I woke up, rubbing my eyes and looking around, seeing that sans was sitting in front of the bench, asleep. I smiled to myself, seeing that he decided to let me sleep instead of waking me up. I tried to determine if I should let him sleep and explore outside the room or wake him up. I decided to look around and let him sleep. I noticed an echo flower crown on the ground and smiled, putting it on my head. I was a bit surprised he made it for me. I knew it was for me, because he doesn't seem like the person to make himself a flower crown. I left the room and walked over the lily pads that led to the room.
I walked around, looking around, trying not to go too far. I heard growling behind me and turning around I saw a monster, foaming at the mouth and growling at me, ready to lunge. I screamed, turning and running, the monster following me and getting closer. I found a bridge, and started to run across it, but on of the boards broke and I fell, only saving myself by grabbing onto another board. The monster started getting closer, the flowers on my head started echoing my screams.
"SANS HELP!" I screamed as I was hanging, I looked down, seeing a long drop. The monster was getting closer and reached to grab my arm. Having no other choice, I let go of the board. The echo flowers' yells echoed throughout the trench.
"SANS HELP"
"SANS HELP" Each one kept screaming his name and my call. Yet, it seemed like no one came.... until my soul turned blue.
"I got ya honey."
Sans POV
She smiled at me as we sat in grillby's, she had ordered fries, claiming not to be too hungry. Everything was back to normal, like it was before Frisk did the neutral run. Honey wore the Echo Flower crown everywhere, rarely taking it off. She was able to convince the humans to send down resources and we rebuilt everything and even went back to eating normal food. She came back down with the supplies, being the one to pass them out. Everyone smiled and laughed, they didn't even care that we were all still stuck down here, we were ourselves again. I knew what would have to happen if Honey broke the barrier. She'd have to permanently die. I smiled as I saw a ring hanging off of a chain around her neck. I had given it to her as a promise and she explained that the ring was too big for her finger, so she wore it on the chain.
"So, are we having spaghetti for dinner again?" She questioned, smiling since she already knew the answer.
"like always." I joked, stealing one of her fries and popping it into my mouth. She playfully punched my arm, but giggled. I smiled back at her. I knew that Frisk's work would never become undone, but Undyne at lease gave the throne back to Toriel, So the underground was much more peaceful. I smiled as I watched her pop a fry into her own mouth.
"Better fill up and plan how to get outta this one. I wonder how Undyne's teaching him to cook." she muttered, her echo flowers long ago went silent, no longer being attacked to their roots, but somehow still alive with their glow. heh.. who am I kidding, everything and everyone is alive around her. She makes the room glow.
"Heh... yea..." I mumbled, grillby cleaning a cup. "hey grillbz, can we get a milkshake and a ketchup bottle?"
".... pay your tab sans..." he said, even though he turned going into the kitchen. I chuckled and I could feel Honey looking over at me.
"Your tab?" she questioned and I smiled.
"Yea... I come here a lot, and ever since I first got here I started a tab, never paid it." She sighed, rolling her eyes but smiled, giggling.
"of course you didn't." She said, biting onto a fry. I smiled as I watched her and grillby set the two drinks, well, drink and condiment in front of us. I grabbed Honey's chin, moving it so she'd look at me as I kissed her. Her face instantly went red as I let go of her chin, chuckling. "Sans we're in public!" She mumbled, hiding her face in my jacket. I laughed at how embarrassed she was, it was too cute.
"So?" I teased her and she just looked away with that blush on her face. "it'll show that you're taken darling." I teased her again. she rolled her eyes and I can see her smiling.
"What, i'm not honey anymore?" She teased back.
"Nah, you'll always be Honey to me. addictive and sweet." I muttered, lifting her chin to look up at me again.
"SANS HELP!" I heard echo throughout the caverns as I snapped out of my dream. I recognized the voice, looking over at the bench, I saw honey was gone.
"God dang it." I muttered, grabbing my axe and running out of the room, seeing she had already taken the flower crown. I ran, looking around, when I heard the echo flowers echoing.
"SANS HELP!"
"SANS HELP!" they echoed and that echo traveled, it almost sounded like they were around me, but I knew better. I teleported to the bridge, on the island in the middle, to see honey falling towards the bottom of the trench. My hand instantly shot out and her soul turned blue and she stopped where she was. I sighed in relief as I said in a loud voice so she'd hear me.
"I got ya honey." I pronounced as her eyes flew to me. I saw her smile and my heart warmed up, which was a surprise to me. The monster snickered and growled from his place.
"What, claiming food and not sharing? or do you have feelings for it?" It questioned as it glared at me for not allowing it to eat. "or is the infamous playing with your food before you eat it?"
"I'm helping her and that's it." I said, pushing my dream and flowey's statements out of my mind as I brought honey over to me and set her on the ground beside me. "you alright?" I asked. She nodded, clearly shaken a bit from falling. "it's alright now. I got ya." I said as I went to ruffle her hair, but ended up running my fingers through it instead, which honestly caught be by surprise. the monster let out a final growl and left and the echo flowers took to a new saying.
"I got ya"
"I got ya"
"I got ya" She looked up at the echo flowers on her own head and smiled. She clearly found comfort in them. I smiled slightly, realizing this is the only time I've smiled genuinely when the topic wasn't about eating her.
"lets go." I said as I gestured to the other bridge. She nodded, allowing me to take her hand so I could lead her over.
Your POV
Sans had caught me and I was filled with relief as I smiled at him. Sans and the monster talked, though I couldn't hear about what. He brought me over to him, using his magic.
"You alright?" He asked and I nodded, shaking a bit as my eyes were wide. I was quite clearly shaken from my near death experience. He seems to have seen this, because I could see him relax and hear his tone go softer. "It's alright now. I got ya." He said as he moved his hand towards my head. He ran his fingers through my hair, which not only surprised me, but, honestly make me happy that he wasn't going to hurt me for running off without him. The monster from the other bridge let out another growl and left as my echo flowers had taken to a new saying.
"I got ya."
"I got ya."
"I got ya." They repeated and I smiled as I looked up at them, which was really difficult since they were on my head. I felt a sense of relief overflow me and a slight whisper from flowey.
"Careful around bridges." But as I looked he was gone. Sans didn't seem to notice.
"Lets go." He said, gesturing to the next bridge ahead of us, and I nodded as I allowed him to take my hand as he led me over the bridge. I was really wary and careful where I stepped.
