The Final Fight and The Barrier

"(y/n)...!" A familiar voice called, echoing through the darkness.

*Looks like its time for you to go back.

I looked over to the small child, any malicious intent was now gone from their face.

*If only you could control the entire timeline....

They started talking as if in a daydream. 

*We could've had... so much FUN.

Their eyes had gone black, black liquid falling from their eyes like tears rolling down their cheeks.

*So much fun... Killing what's left of the underground....

A smile grew upon the child's face.

*Hurting the one you love so much.

My eyes widened as I backed up from the small child.

*All while you stood by, unable to do anything to help them... to help him.

*It would've been so much fun getting LOVE with you partner.

The child saw the horror on my face and the demonic appearance theirs had taken disappeared as they giggled and laughed.

*Oh you're too serious partner!

They giggled, but their eyes did turn red as she looked up at me for a final time.

*I've already done that. And, if you fail your quest.

*IT'LL HAPPEN AGAIN.

"(Y/N)"

My eyes flew open to find I was laid on the ground. I was breathing heavily as my eyes darted around, finally resting on Sans. His eye sockets were wide as he stared at me with worry.

"What happened..?" I asked, rubbing my head as I stood up, a skull splitting headache as the threats made in a demonic voice repeated in my head.

'Your afterlife will be filled with unending pain and countless deaths.'

'I will make you watch your loved one die, as I have watched mine.'

'I've already done that. And, if you fail your quest. It'll happen again.'

My hands shook as I reached out towards Sans, realizing just how badly I needed his touch right now. My hand cupped his cheekbone and his hand rested over my own, bringing odd warmth to it.

"Are you ok..? What happened honey?" He asked, his eyes filled with worry as he examined my expression.

"I-i'm fine... what happened..? last thing I remember was that I was touching the door handle and then everything went black and I was talking to a child." Sans eyes went completely black when I mentioned I was talking to a child.

"You blacked out..... what did this child look like?" He questioned, saying his words slowly as he was clearly upset about something he wasn't telling me.

"Small... pale... they were always smiling, sometimes gentle, sometimes like they were insane... Brown hair that reach their chin, and they were wearing a green sweater with a yellow stripe in the middle." Sans' eyes remained black and hollow, it reminded me of when I looked down into the abyss that brought me here.

"Chara....." I heard him mumble under his breath, I thought he didn't mean for me to hear it, so I didn't say anything on the matter. "What'd they say?" He questioned, his pinpoints returning to his eyes.

"They were just talking to me.. about the neutral run that frisk did and the barrier..." My voice trailed off as I considered if I should continue on about what Chara said.
