Gemina's pov(Gemini)
Gemina stared out the window of the limo, trying not to die of boredom. They had been driving for what felt like seven hours. Paige had informed her that it had really only been 45 minutes, but it still felt like forever.
"Why is it even taking this long?" Gemina asked, turning back to everyone in the limo. "We went through the portal, we should be there!" Drew looked up from his phone.
"Why do you care so much? We'll get there when we get there," Drew said, clearly annoyed with me. Gemina had been complaining for a good 15 minutes, but that didn't give him the right to be rude. She turned back to staring out the window.
"I know everything. I'm so fancy because of my stupid British accent. I'm better than all of you and only my opinion matters," Gemina muttered under her breath, imitating Drew as best she could. Aura, who was sitting next to her, heard and tried to silence her laughing. She actually did a pretty good job of it and only Paige gave them a suspicious look that Gemina could see through the reflection of the window. Once she regained her composure fully, Aura tapped her on the shoulder.
"Hey, what's up? Before we left Asher's house you couldn't shut up, but now you've magically become silent, except for complaining, for the past half hour," she asked. Gemina sighed and turned to her.
"I honestly don't know. I just don't understand why this happened now, all of a sudden and out of the blue. Why not earlier in our lives, or later? Why now? What could have happened that this was needed now. Why place us with families that aren't own here instead of keeping us wherever we came from?" she asked. Aura opened her mouth to answer, but the car suddenly jolted, and instead of speaking, she screeched. Panic spread throughout Gemina. She knew it could have just been a sharp turn, but her gut instinct told her otherwise. She could tell the others felt the same. Drew had even looked up from his phone. They all seemed to be bracing themselves for something, though what that something was, they were clueless. Drew banged on the window separating them from Raina.
"Hey! What was that about!" Gemina felt the car pull over to the side of the road and the window dividing the car started to roll down, but it moved at an extremely slow pace, making her anticipate Raina's response. If it had just been a sharp turn she wouldn't have put down the window, much less stopped the car. When her face was visible, she could tell Raina was worried. Nerves filled her stomach as Raina went to tell them something. Gemina never got to hear what it was though, because something suddenly rammed into her side of the car and the entire limo filled over. Paige, Aura, and Jasper screamed. Gemina was too shocked to scream and she didn't know on Drew and Asher. Everyone ended up in a giant pile on one side of the now upside-down limousine.
"I can't breath! Get off of me!" Paige shrieked as they all untangled themselves from the others. It seemed that poor Paige had ended up at the bottom of the pile and was being crushed to death by Drew, who just happened to land on top of her.
"It's not like I enjoy being like this either," Drew said. I had to resist the urge to laugh, because his accent made him sound so weird when he was mad. "I would move if I wasn't stuck under everyone else."
"Hey, I moved," Gemina said, raising her hands up. "I don't know what's keeping the rest of 'em." Everyone finally managed to stand up, only to be knocked over again by something slamming against the car again. Good thing: We all fell into individual spots. Bad thing: Gemina's head slammed into the metal handle on the door. She cried out in pain, clutching her head. She immediately stood up, her vision blurring slightly as she did. She flung open the door and jumped out of the car, Asher close behind her.
"Where is it?" Gemina spat out, crouched in what she thought was a fighting postion, ignoring the fact that she didn't know what it was. She'd never actually fought anything before, but she was mad. Flip the car over twice, fine she doesn't care, but injure her or one of her friends and you become her enemy real fast.
"I'm going to fight it," Asher said. Gemina was about to call him an idoit, but them she realized that that was her plan too. Probably not the best plan. Oh well, if all else fails, she thought, I can just fly away and leave Asher for dead. Sorry buddy, but I don't know you well enough to care about you.
"That is the most insane idea I have ever heard," Paige said, popping out of no where. Gemina jumped a bit, but not visibly. How could that girl move so silently?
"You're all insane for going out there," Drew said from the car. They all glared at him as Aura and Jasper climbed out of the car and joined Asher and Gemina. Gemina could sense something watching them from behind the trees off to the side of the road. She looked in the direction of where she thought it was and was met with six eyes, two black, two red, and two yellow. She stiffled a gasp and turned to Aura.
"There are six eyes looking at us from those trees," she whispered. Aura's eyes widened slightly and she glanced over at the forest.
"What are two looking at?" Asher asked, fairly loudly. Gemina mentally slapped him for making too much noise and Aura shushed him and made a jabbing pointing motion towards the eyes. Everyone looked over, even Drew who was still sitting in door of the car. From the expression on Paige's face, Gemina could tell she had an idea of what the creature/s was/were, but she didn't want to speak for fear of the creature/s hearing her.
"That's not at all freaky," Asher whispered, voice dripping with sarcasm. Again, she mentally punched him.
"Not the best time for sarcasm Asher," Jasper whispered back. A growl suddenly filled the air and they all whipped their heads towards where the eyes had been.
Gone.
All six eyes were gone.
