Gemina's pov (Gemini)
Gemina woke up to the scent of bacon wafting up slowly from the kitchen to her room. She slowly sat up, squinting at the light that was coming through her window. She slowly got up and walked to the kitchen.
"Morning honey! Happy first day of summer in the Bahamas!" Gemina's mom said from the living room where she was folding laundry. Gemina's dad was in the kitchen, cooking bacon. Gemina sat down at the table. Gemina guessed it was about 10:30 a.m.
"Oh yeah. It's summer! YES!" Gemina jumped up from the table. "Finally free from homework and annoying essays. Only friends, pools and blue sky's from here! Speaking of friends, I have to call Vicky!" Gemina started to run towards her room.
"Wait just a minute," her mom said. Gemina stopped in her tracks. "You have to eat first!"
"Oh yeah. I forgot about that," Gemina said as she sat back down at the table.
"Eat up," her mom said as she set down a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon. Gemina started shoving it in her mouth. Once she finished, she dashed to her room.
Paige's pov (Virgo)
Paige blinked at her book and yawned. She could hear her dad's Canadian flag flapping viciously in the strong wind. She turned the page a continued reading. Someone knocked on her door. Paige looked up from her book.
"Who is it?" Paige asked, sleepily.
"Rebecca."
"Come in," Paige said, looking back at her book. She heard her younger sister open the door and walk in.
"Have you been reading all night?" Rebecca asked.
"No..." Paige said, looking up from her book. She yawned. Rebecca sat down on the edge of Paige's bed.
"Really? Again? You know how much dad hates it when you do this," Rebecca said, concerned.
"I know. It's just such a good book!" Paige said. "There's so much action and romance, it's almost impossible to put down!"
"Well you have to put it down. Dad's almost done making breakfast and he wants you showered, dressed, and ready for the day before he sees you."
"How long do I have?"
"15 minutes." Paige sighed and flung the covers off her body. She shivered from the coldness of her house.
"When is Dad ever going to turn up the air conditioning?"
"From my guess, never," Rebecca replied. Paige sighed and then yawned.
"Well, I better get in the shower." Paige stood up and walked out of her room, leaving her book on the bed and Rebecca trailing behind her.
Drew's pov (Scorpio)
"Get up!" Drew woke up to the awful sound of his stepmother screaming in his ear. "You might not have school anymore, but you still have work to do!" His stepmother ripped the covers off him. Drew sighed and sat up as his stepmother stormed out of the room.
"Great. Now instead of school, I get endless work," Drew murmured to himself. He dragged himself out of bed and put on a t-shirt and basketball shorts. Then he trudged out of his room, even though it wasn't much of a room as a glorified closet, and into his stepbrother's room. Now this was a room. Probably bigger. He doubted that normal rooms could fit a king sized bed, a couch, a gaming console, and a huge flatscreen tv.
"Took you long enough!" said Drew's younger stepbrother, Ryan. "I need someone to replace everything on my bed with new, clean sheets and blankets and to wash the old ones. Get to work!" Drew walked over to the bed and started ripping off the covers as Ryan walked out to go enjoy an elaborate breakfast, no doubt.
"Why can't they just hire servants? I mean, their rich enough," Drew murmured to himself. They certainly were rich enough, but it wasn't his stepfamily's work. It was his father's. Drew's father was a gold dealer who had many stores throughout England. At the moment he was probably in a small town, working the manager of that store to make improvements, while Drew was stuck here in London with his stepfamily. He would love to stay with his mom, but she died three months ago while drunk driving because of her and his dad's divorce. Just as he finished pulling everything off the bed, he heard footsteps. For a moment he panicked. Then his older brother, Kyle, walked in holding a plate of toast.
"I thought you might want to eat something," Kyle said, handing the plate to Drew.
"Thanks," Drew said, putting down the blanket he was holding and took the plate. Kyle started working on the bed for him.
"Kyle?" Drew asked.
"Yes?" Kyle said, not looking up from his work.
"Why do we have to do the work around the house? Why can't they hire servants?"
"Because they can have us do work for free and they don't have to pretend to like us. We all know they hate us."
"I guess you're right," Drew said, and he went back to eating his toast.
Jasper's pov(Taurus)
Jasper walked into his kitchen and grabbed a frying pan. Then he grabbed some eggs, cracked them into a bowl, and whisked them with some milk, salt, and pepper. Then he grabbed a bag of cheese and set it on the counter. Then he cut up some bell peppers and set those off to the side. He then fried some bacon and cut that up. He then dumped the eggs in the frying pan and made an omlet. He ate it and then washed his dishes.
"What to do today?" Jasper wondered out loud. He lived in an apartment by himself. He had lived in an orphanage for all his life. His parents had left him there right after he was born because they didn't want to raise a kid. He had only moved into this apartment a month ago, thanks to his older friend, Maddie, who had lived in the girl section of his orphanage. She had payed for the apartment for him, until he got a job and could pay for it himself. Maddie had gotten out of the orphanage 3 years ago because she was a legal adult and they couldn't keep her anymore. She was now 21 and had a job as a office manager thanks to her incredible smarts. She was also going to the University of Miami on a scholarship.
"I guess I'll just watch some tv. I've got nothing better to do. I don't start working full time until next week, so I have tons of free time," Jasper said. He was kind of talking just to fill the silence. He sat down on the couch and turned on the tv. At the moment there was a reality show on. He saw the parents happily welcome home their child and sighed.
"I wish I had parents that loved me," Jasper said.
