I walk by Matt sitting on the steps. I drop off a note I wrote.
'Matt,
Meet me on the shady side of the school
-April'
I go to class and start thinking about all of the possibilities. But it remains a mystery.
The final bell rings and I got to the shady side of the school to find Matt leaning on the side of the building.
"Hey." I say.
"Hey." He says.
"Thank you for meeting me here." I say.
"What is this about?" He asks.
"You." I say.
"Me? What about me?" He asks a bit tense.
"Calm down I just want to hel-"
"Listen..I dont need help and don't tell me to calm down!" He yells. He gets up to my face.
"Just let me help you. I-I know you-you are no-not happy." I say.
"What makes you think that?!" He asks still tense.
"Umm maybe that you hurt your hand punching a locker. Kinda gave it away." I say.
"So what? Never punched something before?" He asks still tense.
"In fact, no I haven't. Because I use my words." I say.
"Use my words. Heh like I've heard that before." He says still up in my face.
"Just accept the help. Maybe you will feel good about yourself." I say.
"No one can tell me what to do." He says a bit angry.
"Just a suggestion. Take it or leave it." I say. I take a few steps back. I turn to walk away and look over my shoulder. "Something to think about." I say. I walk off.
