Rose's POV
I was falling hundreds of feet through the air. I looked over to my right to see Jason Raymond falling beside me looking oddly calm. My back started to feel numb as I looked at the ground rushing up towards me. As I panicked the numbness in my back turned to pain. I screamed out. Jason grabbed my hand trying to comfort me. He moved his one arm to extended my left arm. He was no in front of me and kept my arms extended even though I kept trying to bring them into me to try to lessen the pain."It's okay Rose. You are growing your wings. We are going to need them soon." I gasped as I realized Jason's voice was in my head. I thought I was the only one able to do that. He must be like me. Suddenly we came to a quick stop. I could feel one of my arms dislocating from its socket. I gasped in pain."Are you alright?" I nodded and mumbled something about being okay. Slowly I touched my shoulder causing me to grimace. "It is dislocated." He gave it a look. "Come on, let's get out of here." I suddenly realized Jason also had wings. He started flying to the west. I slowly followed my wings had never been used before. Getting used to these wings was going to be much harder than I thought. After ten more long hours, Jason called out to me telling me to land. I landed or rather Jason landed and I almost fell face-first onto the ground. Jason had caught me before I hit the ground though. Thank God. I looked up at him and he looked down at me.
"You should be more careful." His voice was soft. I heard a large group of people walking towards us.
"Who is the girl, Jason?" A tall buff man in a blue army suit similar to the one I realized Jason wearing. All the men standing behind him wore a green suit with a symbol on them that looked like a dragon on a cross. The same symbol was on Jason's and the other guy's suits as well. Jason gently set me on the ground.
"Rose Belladonna, Dragon Rider." I saw the way Jason stiffened when the man addressed him. I slowly crept behind Jason, not liking the energy the other man was giving off.
"Shy girl isn't she? Not good for a dragon rider." The man said mater-of-factly.
"She has been locked away for years." Jason was starting to sound angry.
"Pardon me, Sir." I was moving out from behind Jason to stand on my own. " I really think you could be a little nicer to people. Especially when they could hear you." I could feel my blood start to boil in anger. My captors "taught" me to use it to my advantage when they couldn't get me to stay calm. I would end up destroying everything in sight...including buildings. Hence all the construction there.
"You know, girl you should learn who you are talking to before you speak as you do." Jason pushed my dislocated arm back into its socket in preparation for the upcoming battle. The man scoffed at the way I cringed at the pain. I felt the wind pick up moving the darkened clouds in the sky so they were blocking out the sun. Before I had the chance to move a woman spoke.
"That is enough, Terence." After a few seconds, the woman herself appeared. It seemed as though the trees had moved out of her way as she walked towards us. She had long brown hair that reached just above her butt, and she was wearing a red gown that lightly brushed against the ground.
"Rose, meet Queen Fiona Shane of the Silver River, and the Silver Mountains," I recalled how she became Queen of two different kingdoms. The young queen was raised as the single heir to both of the countries that sat side by side. After her parents were killed in a freak training accident she inherited both of the countries. Thus she grew up fast, but she is probably the wisest of all the queens you will meet as well as the nicest... Well until you make her mad. I heard that she was fierce if you harmed her family or her country.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Queen Fiona. I am Rose Belladonna." I said politely
"I was the one that sent our Dragon Rider Jason Raymond to get you as soon as we caught wind that you were there." I looked over at Jason. A queen remembers the name of a Dragon Rider as the strongest one they have is their champion. Before when Dragon Riders were everywhere you would have been lucky to live half the life of a normal person. The people that were not Dragon Riders killed them as a way to keep the earth "pure" even though they protected them. I think those people were just plain idiots.
