Jason's POV

When my sister told me she found out the southern king was a spy I knew we had to get out of there. There was only one problem I was stuck under a boulder well my arm was and I couldn't get to her. I hope Rose gets here fast. Midnight tried to move the boulder, but she hasn't come into her true strength yet. Even Shiva a full grown dragon couldn't move the boulder.

"It's okay. Rose is coming she shouldn't be long." As Shiva spoke the sky got dark. The clouds were no longer white and fluffy but dark rolling clouds that symbolize bad things are going to happen. I shifted and gasped at the pain it brought me. Get here soon Rose. I heard a cry from Midnight. She must have seen Rose. A few seconds later the weight on my arm was lifted and more pain hit me like a slap across the face. I heard the boulder land a few feet away from me.

"Jason!" Rose was kneeling right beside me. She slipped her hand underneath me and helped me sit up. "What happened? How'd the boulder land on your arm? Should I get Shikira?"

"Just get me to the kingdom. I'll worry about it from there." I saw a shift in Rose. She went from worried to action ready in a matter of a second. It was as though she doesn't have a heart anymore.

"Shiva, can you carry him in your claws without hurting him?"

"I assure you I won't hurt him."

"Good. Shall we get on our way." Shiva wrapped her claws around me with Rose's help, then we were off to the kingdom. I fell asleep on the way there from the pain my crushed arm was causing me.
When I woke my arm was in a sling and Rose was sleeping tucked under Midnight's wing. Her disheveled hair looked similar to the red flames that were now on Midnight's wing. They are getting stronger. How strong are they going to get? I know now that she is stronger than me, but I can't help but want to protect her from this horrible world. It was then realized that I was in love with her. The last time I tried to tell her I liked her it went terribly and she got injured by someone's dragon. I can't believe I still haven't found out how it belongs to.

"Jason?" I looked at my sister who was standing in the door.

"Yes?"

"How are you doing?" Her voice was soft like she was talking to a little kid.

"I'm fine." I looked over to where Rose was still sleeping.

"You love her don't you?" I looked back over to my sister and smiled a sad smile.

"Yes." I looked back to Rose my smile fading. She was so beautiful. So innocent despite her past. The world is going to break her.

"I'll bring you two supper soon, okay?"

"Okay." I heard her sigh then the door closed. I wonder if she will be angry when she wakes up. Or sad. Maybe worried

"Jason, who was that?" Rose sat up and rubbed her eyes in a cute way.

"Just my sister."

"Oh okay." She yawned stretching. She is so beautiful. Crap. I think I'm in love.

"I'm so tired." She said rubbing her eyes.

"How long did you stay up last night."

"I went to bed a couple of hours ago actually." She mumbled after looking at the large grandfather clock.

"Go back to sleep, darling. I'll wake you when lunch arrives." She laid back down.

"Promise."

"Promise." She closed her eyes and fell back asleep.

"Dragon Rider." Midnight's voice filled my head. "Take good care of her. I can only do so much for her."

"I will." I'll take care of her forever.
