Enia's POV

"Caaaarl!"

"Ano ba Enia will you please shut up? Hindi ako maka concentrate oh."

"Gutom na gutom na ako. Tama na yan!"

Kanina pa ako rito sa office niya and he doesn't pay attention to me. He's the one who ask kung pwede ba akong pumunta rito at kumain ng lunch with him pero pinaghintay lang ako!

"It's almost one na oh! Bakit di mo na lang gawin mamaya?!"

Nagpatuloy lang siya sa pagtytype ng kung ano sa laptop niya. Inis naman akong umupo ulit sa sofa.

"Kailangan ko 'tong matapos bago umalis si Wil. Iyong isang yun naman kasi eh, napaka short notice. Tsk."

I raised my brows to what he said.

"Aalis si Wil? Where?"

"May meeting siya sa US. Ilang buwan na rin syang kinukulit ng lolo niya tungkol dito. Hindi ko nga alam kung ano ang nagpabago sa isip noon. By the way malapit na. Mag-isip ka na ng makakainan natin."

I rolled my eyes on him and took my phone out of my pouch. Tinapat ko yung finger ko sa scanner at nang magopen may message agad.

Hi. This is Efren, cousin of Gerald. You look gorgeous last night wondering if I can see you again later?

Napairap naman ako habang iniscroll yung ilang messages. I stopped scrolling when I saw Avi's text. Lately, she texts me how I was doing, which is good kasi dati hindi mahilig magtext yun at hindi masyadong sweet.

Hi En, kasama mo ba si Wil?

I pouted at her text, si Wil pala ang hanap. It was sent one hour ago.

To:Avi Girl 💓
Nope. I'm with Carl maglulunch kami. You wanna join us?

Saktong pagsend ko ng message ay natapos na si Carl at agad na rin kaming kumain sa malapit na restaurant.

"Powder room lang ako."  I stood up and went to the powder room. Pagdating ko may babaeng mukhang galit na galit habang may katawagan sa phone. Di ko na pinansin yung girl at humarap na lang sa salamin para mag-ayos ng lipstick at hair ko. After I applied the lipstick inayos ko yung strap ng blue dress ko at medyong nalukot na part.

"Ang tanga mo naman Andrea! Bakit mo hinayaan?"

Bahagya akong napatigil sa pag-aayos dahil sa pangalang narinig ko. Maybe kapangalan lang. I took my comb from my pouch nang magsalita ulit ang babae.

"You could have told him. Wala akong paki kung sino ang dapat magsabi ng totoo. And now you you're telling me na aalis na si William?! Akala ko ba tutulongan natin sila?! Don't tell you still like him that's why--"

My breathing literally stopped. I know, That William and Andrea she's talking about are my friends. Dahan dahan ang pagsuklay ko at nagkunwaring walang narinig.

"Oh! For Pete's sake! Cassandra doesn't own that child and damn her reasons and conscience! Andrea listen to me, you need to tell them bago pa tuluyang umalis si Wil. Pupuntahan ko si Cass ngayon magpapaalam lang ako kay Cloud."

Napalunok ako nang matapos ang babae sa tawag. My gosh sobrang bilis ng kabog ng dibdib ko. Is this true? Did I hear it right? Si Avi yung tinutukoy niya di ba?! Sht! Tinitigan ko yung babae, she has long wavy hair and angelic face. I think nakita ko na siya.

Nang makalabas ang babae, natutop ko yung bibig ko. Omyghash! I saw her once sa building ni Wil and if hindi ako nagkakamali siya yung kinukwento ni Avi sa text.

I hastily went out and found Carl impatiently waiting for me.

"Antagal mo--"

"Where's Wil?" napakunot agad ang noo niya kasi alam kong mukhang ewan na kinakabahan.

"I don't know. Maybe in board na sa plane. Why?"

"Shit. We need to stop him." I pulled him up and drag him out.

"Teka bakit?!"

"Kelan ang balik niya?! Omg. Avi needs to know this."

I dialed Avi's number and luckily she picked it up agad.

"Hello-"

"Bruha ka! Si Wil aalis papuntang states!"

Agad akong sumakay si sa sasakyan ni Carl at inutusang pumuntang airport.

"Huh?!"

"Carl just drive this damn car to the airport kailangan nating pigilan si Wil."

"Just tell me what's happening Enia!"

"Hello Avi? Listen, I already know the truth and we need--"

"En, I'm sorry. Sasabihin ko naman talaga kay Wil. Siguro sa pagbalik niya lang."

Napabuntong hininga ako at bumaling kay Carl.

"Kailan ang balik ni Wil?"

"Maybe next week--"

"Okay."

"Oh Sht! Baka next year!

"What?!" inis na tiningnan ko si Carl.

"I forgot he took the apprenticeship and I remember Bert saying that Lolo Anton will manage the company while Wil's away. It's a big opportunity para--"

"Damn it! Avi gail. Baka next year mo pa makita ulit si William!

"Andito na tayo."

Mabilis akong bumaba sa sasakyan. Tumakbo kami ni Carl at bahagyang natigil ang pagtakbo namin nang makita namin si Avi sa labas habang tinatanaw ang loob ng departure area.

"Avi."

She looked at me with faint smile and a tear on her beautiful face.

"I'll just wait for him until he's done."

I hold her hand. "Let's a book a flight. Sundan natin."

"No En. He waited for me. Ako naman ngayon ang maghihintay. I just hope that he still know how much I love him. "

I hugged my best friend tight. Alam kong sobra na siyang nasasaktan.

"I failed him again En." she sobbed. "Puro mali na naman ang mga desisyon ko. Pinakawalan ko na naman siya."

"Shhhh."

Carl and I just hugged Avi until she stops crying. Hinatid na rin namin siya. I refused to talk about Axel and Wil for that day. She needs to relax lalo na't baka hikain siya.

I look at her face while she's sleeping. Why can't they stop fallling in love? I saw happiness in love but I also witness so much pain it brought. I adore those brave one to commit love even though it pained them over and over again.

I closed my best friend's door and smiled. I hope she'll be fine eventually.
