Chapter 20

It was Saturday, uuwi sana ako ako sa amin pero pinigilan ako ni Mama. Pupunta raw silang Palawan ni Dad. I was so envy, I wanted to come with them. I never been there.

"I already called Dr. Castro, she's expecting you there today." Si Dad.Ayoko sana.

"Avi." His voice full of authority and demanding me to follow whatever he says.

They called me and puro naman pagpapaalala ang sinabi nila. It's been months yung last na visit ko kay Doc. I believe na okay na ako.

"I heard about the incident yesterday with the Madrigal cousins. Tell me, ginugulo ka ba nila?" Carl picked me up and he insisted to drive me to my doctor.
"Di ko alam sa kanila." I seriously don't wanna talk about them. And if ever I want to talk about it. Carl isn't the best person to talk with.

"Best friend kita, don't hide it from me." Naguilty naman ako, kasi simula ng umamin siya ay naging iba na ang pagtrato ko sa kanya. I admit I distanced myself slowly from him.

"Sorry, It's just that-"

"Avi, I know that you're not okay with my feelings for you and I also knew what's happening with you. Do you wanna know about them? " my eyebrows met at what he said.

"What do you know about them?" I curiously ask.

"Inagaw ni Jake yung girlfriend dati ni William." I was stunned by what Carl just said. Inagaw?

"You know, William was very busy on his acads and extra curricular activies that he forgot the existence of his girlfriend.  Slowly,  Jake took her away from him." He glanced at me before turning his car to the left alley going the hospital.

"Napakachismoso mo." Yun na lang ang naisagot ko sa kanya at tumawa naman siya.

"I'm not. My basketball teammates fed me by those information."

"Sa Cebu rin ba nanggaling si Jake?" He nods. "He's second year now, lumipat siya rito sa Iloilo noong First year college niya. "

Pinigilan ko ang sarili kong magtanong pa kay Carl. Nang makarating ako sa hospital ay agad naman akong pumunta sa doctor ko't naiwan si Carl sa sasakyan para maghintay.

Dr. Castro just gave me a new set of medicine and said that I was doing fine. But still I need to consider her suggestion.

Matapos ang appointment ko sa doctor ay inaya ako ni Carl na manuod ng movie. Tamang-tama dahil gusto kong manuod ng The Space Between Us.

Nang matapos namin ang movie, nagulat ako nang makasalubong ko si Jake. He's with a little girl. He was surprised too but he manage to smile. Tipid akong ngumiti at inaya na si Carl na umalis.

Inakbayan ako ni Carl at ginulo yung buhok ko. "Bat andaming nagkakagusto sa'yo? Magtago ka nga sa probinsya." Patawa niyang sabi.

"Ewan ko sa inyong mga lalaki. Pinagloloko nyo ata ako eh."

"Uy! Ako, swear to heart. Mamatay man, talagang gusto talaga kita." Siniko ko naman siya. Loko talaga eh.

"Pero Avi, hindi mo ba talaga ako crush?" I stared at him. Paano ba?

"Abnormal ako di ba? Di ako nagkakacrush." Ngumiti ako para naman di maging seryoso yung usapan namin.

"Hayyy! Sabi ko nga friendzone talaga." Tumawa siya at ginulo yung buhok ko. "Tara bilhan kita ng tinapay.

I cling into his arms pagkatapos niya ako bilhan sa Bread Talk. "Carl" he glanced at me. " wag ka masyadong ma inlove sakin ha. May mga taong gustong magmahal sa'yo." Kinurot niya yung ilong ko.
