When I get home I take out my phone and call Jacob. "Hello?" He speaks into the phone. "Where were you today?" I ask already frustrated that he left me.
"Sorry, I ditched. I've had enough of that prison. What are you doing? Aren't you supposed to be heading to 6th period right now?" I chuckle, "I'm supposed to be. I left because I didn't want to be there anymore."
"You wanna hang?" Jacob asks after a moment of silence. I nod and purse my lips together, "Of course, kinda the reason I called you." I laugh lightly and I hear Jacob do the same.
"I'll be over in a bit." I say before he can say anything else and hang up, grabbing my mom's keys from the kitchen counter and walking out the door.
I get in the car and let the car warm up before I leave. I unlock my phone and see a text message from Ethan.
Ethan: Can we please talk about this?
Me: No, enough has already been said and done.
I lock my phone and pull out of the driveway and drive towards Jacob's house.

When I get there, Jacob is sitting on his porch and before I can get out of the car, Jacob runs and gets in the passenger seat. "Lets go surfing." Is all he says and I look at him in complete disbelief.
"You have never been surfing in your life and neither have I. We don't even have surfboards, Jacob." He raises an eyebrow and turns his head towards me, "Does it look like I care?"
My jaw drops and I giggle, slapping his arm lightly, "Someone is salty today." I say and he just shrugs. "They probably have some that we can borrow. And we can teach ourselves, it doesn't look that hard."
I rub my lips together and pretend to think. After a short minute in silence I speak up, "How about...no. There are these things called sharks. And plus, from watching Grayson surf, it looks kinda challenging, and he has been surfing for a long time. Imagine first timers."
Jacob groans and pulls at his hair in frustration. "Come on Elle. Its not that bad of an idea." I put on a poker face and shrug, "You're right." He looks at me in excitement. "Its a terrible idea." I add and pull the keys out and get out of the car.
Jacob throws a fit in my car as I watch him, tapping my foot on the ground, waiting for him to grow up. He gets out and shuffles towards me and I chuckle, "Come on, big boy." He glares at me and we walk into his house.
No one was home cause his mom died when he was a kid and his dad was obviously at the school, working. He goes into the kitchen and leans against the counter, "What do you want to do?" He asks.
I shrug and walk around, looking for any movies or video games we could play. "We should go to that party at Maddie's tonight. Its going to be lit." Jacob suggests and I raise an eyebrow, picking up a picture frame that had a picture of his mom and dad at their wedding day.
"Did you hear me about Maddie's party?" He asks and I nod my head slowly. Putting the frame back down and turning to look at Jacob who was now looking through the fridge.
"I don't know. Me and Maddie aren't really friends anymore after, you know." I say awkwardly. He nods and pulls out a bottle of water and grabs another and throws it at me. I catch it and glare at him and he just laughs.
"Who says you have to go for Maddie though? Go for me. Go for Alissa or Ethan. Go for your mom. Go for yourself. Let loose, don't let all this drama stop you from having fun." He says and I look down at the floor and think about it.
"When does this thing start?" I look back up at him and he smiles. "It starts at 8." I look at my phone and its currently 1:13. "Okay, at 5 we should start getting ready." I say and he nods.
I can't believe I'm doing this. Who knows what's going to happen. What if Grayson is there? What if something bad happens? I push my thoughts to the back of my head and follow Jacob upstairs to his room.

I wake up wrapped in a pair of arms, and I hear my phone going off. I look at the caller ID and see Alissa's name and I send her to my voicemail. I look down at Jacob and brush if the weird feeling I got, knowing I woke up in his arms instead of Grayson's.
I look at the time on my phone and turn off the TV in a hurry. We had apparently fallen asleep to a movie. I shake Jacob awake and tell him we have to hurry. Its 7:19 and the party starts in less than an hour.
Jacob stays in what he was wearing cause it was party material and we run out to my car and I speed off to my house. I unlock the door and thankfully my mom wasn't home or else she would've kicked my ass for ditching.
I run up to my room and go through my wardrobe and my eyes landed on a shirt I haven't worn till middle school. I hoped it still fit me and threw it on my bed along with some black pants.
I hurried and changed and surprisingly the top still fit me. I turn around and Jacob was leaning against the doorframe. "Is this good enough?" I ask looking down at my outfit and he nods, looking at me then my very revealing top.

I leave my hair and makeup since that was already done and get some shoes on and we walk out the door, locking it behind us. We get in the car and drive to Maddie's.
