The next day I spotted Harry in the cafeteria with his friends. He was laughing at something Zayn said, but he didn't actually look happy. A girl that I recognised from my English class came up to them, attracting all of their attention at once. I could see that she was talking to all of them due to her clear articulation and engagement—but soon she was centred on Harry. Before I knew it, she dropped down in his lap and started straddling him mid-conversation.

What the fuck was this school?

The boys started cheering while Harry laughed, soon letting his hands creep behind her back. She leaned in, snuggled down into his neck and brushed her hands all over his torso. I could then observe his face over her shoulder—and he seemed to be very pleased with the act.

Grumpy Harry was not so grumpy anymore.

Seeing him with other people was never something that made me jealous or anything like that. I had no reason to be jealous—heck, I could get with him whenever I wanted to. However, it did bug me. It bugged me because it made me feel as if I was just as trashy as anyone else. It bugged me because it reminded me that I had become one of those people who turned in their bodies to Harry because they were weak—and I didn't want to be weak.

I decided not to pay more attention to him and moved on with my day rather quickly. Conveniently, that day was the same day Elise broke it off with Liam (whatever it was that they had). I kept telling myself that it wasn't as serious as it was, and thankfully they hadn't gone further than kissing—so I was satisfied. It was finally Niall's time to shine.

In the afternoon I was out on the field with Caleb and Niall when I spotted Harry and his friends for the second time. They were all on their way out on the field—not too far from where we were sitting—and Parker was telling them some story. Once they crouched down only a few metres away from us, it only took Harry ten seconds to acknowledge me. I gave him the slightest of smiles to somehow make clear that I wasn't upset with him. He picked his phone up and started typing.

HARRY: I'm sorry about yesterday. I shouldn't have acted like that.

ME: No. I'm sorry for upsetting you. Whatever it was, you were mad. I never meant to make you feel that way.

HARRY: Thanks.

HARRY: Is this the wrong time to ask if you wanna meet up behind the building?

I looked up at my two friends who were chatting to each other about some footie game before looking over at Harry and earning a sweet smile.

ME: Behind the building?

HARRY: There's a place right behind the school where there are loads of bushes and trees. Nobody goes there.

ME: Can we do it fast? I don't have much time.
