Chapter 4

Baby's eyes widened "Are you serious? You're literally in hospital as a result of a de-mon fight" "Yeah, I can see that. But as I fought, I realised that fighting de-mons is what I'm supposed to do". Baby shook her head "Don't be an idiot Dom, you can't...", Dominic lost the rest of what she was saying as the room started spinning. He quickly fell unconscious and, as expected, Gabriel was there waiting for him.

"Why hello there, young Dominic. I take it you've re-considered my proposition?" "Yeah obviously. You already knew that or you wouldn't be here" Gabriel simply laughed. "You sure you want to do that? Your friend is right, you could get seriously hurt again. This isn't easy" "I know that, that's why I'm not doing it alone". A confused look once again covered Gabriel's face "What are you talking about?".

"I didn't say this to Baby cos I wasn't sure what you'd say about it, but I know that I can't do this alone" "Ah, you want Baby, and perhaps that girl Anna, to assist you in this role?" Dominic shook his head "More than that, I want a whole team. A squadron, if you like. Composed of all my best friends" "Oh" "I mean it, I almost died fighting. If it wasn't for the others, you wouldn't have had to even bring me up here to talk. Cos I'd be here already. Dead" "Can we discuss thi-" "No. I just decided that this is non-negotiable. I don't help you unless I get my squad. Deal?". Gabriel looked uneasy "This is not what you were meant to do", but Dominic refused to relent "Do we have a deal or not?" Gabriel sighed heavily "Fine. We have a deal. Just take this contract, sign it, and get your 'squad' to sign it aswell". Dominic took the contract, and subsequently awoke, still holding it.

"Oh thank goodness you're fine!" exclaimed Baby "I was about to call the doctor- wait what are you holding? Is that a scroll? Where did that come from?". "Calm down" Dominic told her "I was talking to Gabriel" Baby's expression was full of surprise "He actually came to see you? I thought he would've dropped you after you said no the first time"Dominic chuckled then continued, "I told him I'd be a de-mon hunter under one condition" Baby just looked at him intently "I get to pick a team to help me".

Baby's jaw dropped. "Oh my gosh! You have to put me on your team. And Anna too!" "Obviously. I'm getting the whole group" "Yes! But they don't have any weapons, do they?" "Well, Gava does boxing, and we obviously have our little weapons too" "Ah, okay" "Everyone else can learn stuff. I assume they're gonna train us" "Yeah, that make sense. You gonna tell them now?" "Yeah, but first you need to sign this contract". Baby signed the contract, then went out of the room and sent everyone else in.

Dominic explained about Gabriel and the de-mons and told them all about the team he was putting together. It took a while, but with Baby's help, he convinced them all that he was being serious. Then, one by one, they all agreed to join the team and signed the contract. A nurse came into the room shortly after "Okay you guys, visiting time is over". Everyone said goodbye to Dominic, then left the room. 5 minutes later, Baby walked back through the door. "What are you doing here?" "I don't care what they say, I'm not leaving you here alone". Dominic shook his head, rolled his eyes, sighed, then patted the bed next to him. Baby quickly got into the bed beside him, fully clothed, and turned off the light at his request. "We're gonna go recruit Anna tomorrow" she told him, "I'm not allowed to leave" he replied, "When has that ever stopped you?" "Fair enough. Night Baby" "Night Dom". They both closed their eyes and went to sleep.

In the morning, Dominic and Baby made plans to get him into school to recruit Anna. "Okay, get changed into school clothes now Dom. Leave the hospital at 12 and take the bus to get to school by 12:30. When you get there climb over the fence at the Blind Spot and come find me in the Music block bathrooms". The Blind Spot was a place on the school grounds that no teachers watched and the camera's couldn't see. Their group used it frequently to sneak out. Dominic quickly changed out of his hospital gown and put on his school uniform. He'd never had a problem changing in front of Baby, and it was the same for her. Dominic got back into bed as Baby left "See you in a few hours Dom". Dominic winked at her then lay down and closed his eyes.
