yuuri sighed, his leg bouncing nervously from under the table he sat at across from his new (somewhat) housemate, viktor. a bowl of some sort of soup sat in front of him; and he glanced down at it greedily, though scarcely. he had no idea what it was he was looking at.
"you okay?" viktor asked, furrowing his eyebrows a bit as he glanced up at the raven. his eyes then widened, and he blushed a deep red, laughing nervously. "okay, so i sh—shouldn't have worded it like that. is something the matter?"
yuuri flushed pink, lowering his head a little as his lips parted to find the adequate words to say.
"i—uh.." yuuri dodged the topic, deciding against asking. he didn't want to seem dumber than he already came off as. "are you g—going to take makkachin in?"
viktor stopped for a moment, well aware of the fact that this wasn't yuuri's original question, but either way smiled it off, a sigh slipping past his plump, glossy lips.
"i guess so," he breathed, smiling sadly at the empty bowl in front of him. he then glanced over at his sleeping dog to the right of him. "he does deserve it, doesn't he."
yuuri blushed, glancing down at his fingers.
it fell silent.
"so why don't you tell me now, yuuri," viktor whispered, leaning his elbows on the table, his head rested in his hands, "is something the matter?"
yuuri tried to fight his oncoming blush.
"i a—already t—told you—"
"there's something else, and it's the reason why you won't eat," he laughed, leaning forwards a tad. "so what is it? do you not like it?"
yuuri looked up, staring into viktor's eyes. he didn't want him to get the notion that the raven was ungrateful.
"n—no!" he squirmed, twiddling with his fingers from under the table. "it's just.. i.. uh.."
"..yes?" viktor indicated for him to carry on.
"idunnowuttefudes." he rushed, blushing. viktor smiled, furrowing his eyebrows.
"little slower, yuuri," he giggled.
"i d—don't know what it is," yuuri mumbled. "i—it's stupid. i—ignore it."
viktor's heart reached out for the boy.
"chicken noodle soup?" viktor said, his voice lacing curiosity and pity. "have you.. never had chicken noodle soup?"
viktor nearly died when yuuri tilted his head to the left cutely, his bottom lip sticking out just the tiniest bit.
for a seventeen year old boy, yuuri was fucking adorable.
"oh, yuuri," he sighed, closing his eyes. yuuri immediately squirmed in his seat, feeling dumb. although viktor noticed immediately and sat up straighter.
"no no, it's not your fault yuuri," viktor rushed, his heart hurting. "it's just it's such a children's common food.. i—i feel bad you've never had it. it almost seems foreign to me that you've never even tried it."
yuuri blushed.
"w—what's so great about it?" he mumbled, pouting as his eyes caught a glimpse down below at the yellow tainted juice. "what's in it?"
viktor laughed. "chicken, and noodles. it is chicken noodle soup after all."
yuuri's pout grew.
that should've been implied.
he just stared down at the foreign food.
"why don't you try it?" viktor asked, leaning across the skinny table, "it's real good,"
yuuri fumbled with his feet.
"u—uh—"
viktor smiled. "here, wait." he said. he picked up the spoonful, and giggled, lifting it. "here comes the train!"
he swerved it towards a confused yuuri.
"that's a spoon."
viktor nearly dropped the damn spoon.
"has no one ever done that to you either?" viktor gasped, exasperation in his tone. he then swerved the spoon, raising his eyebrows questioningly. "here comes the choo-choo train?"
yuuri blushed, looking at him as if he had grown another head. viktor blushed as well.
"i can't believe this," he sighed, closing his eyes. "okay, well, here comes the choo choo train, so open up!"
yuuri's face contorted into one of confusion and judgement, but nonetheless, his lips formed a pout before they opened just the tiniest bit.
viktor placed the spoon on yuuri's tongue, and his mouth closed, the handle now in the raven's grasp.
as soon as the salty, yet sensational taste filled his mouth, his eyes widened, and his face flushed pink in excitement, his eyebrows rising.
he nearly moaned at how amazing it was.
viktor smiled.
"mm," yuuri mumbled, blushing as he spooned more. "mmm,"
viktor laughed. he really liked this yuuri.
"aww," he cooed, sitting back in his seat. "so you like it?"
yuuri held back a smile.
"maybe a l—little," he whispered, shoving another into his mouth.
viktor stared at him for a moment.
"o—okay, yes," he blushed, fingering his oversized sweater that viktor had let him borrow. "i—i do."
viktor smiled softly; he couldn't help it.
"then i'll make it often."
yuuri's mouth opened, before he closed it again, staring down at the table. he placed down the spoon in his fingers.
"h—how long do you.." yuuri whispered, before he stopped, looking away. "you know, n—nevermind. f—forget i—"
"as long as i can, yuuri." viktor smiled, staring deep into the raven's eyes. and yuuri blushed again, hating how he did so often. "i plan to keep you safe for as long as i can, and for as long as you want me too."
and yuuri couldn't help smiling, just the tiniest bit.
