yuuri noticed something had been wrong with viktor's leg ever since the moment they stepped out of that car. he was striding on a small limp, occasionally flinching or closing his eyes in what looked like something similar to pain.

the raven sighed, blushing lightly as he leaned against the wall, staring down at the mess in front of him.

fuck.

viktor had handed yuuri two sheets to put on the bed in the guest room, and a pillow, before stating that there was already a comforter (also known as a duvet) in the hall closet. he grabbed it from in there, but nonetheless, dropped it all on the bed in a mess.

he attempted to fix it all; many times. but every time, it ended up as a wrinkled, bumpy mess. and he visibly cringed at the sight of it.

this definitely wasn't right.

yuuri groaned, before stepping forward, just about to take off the sheets and just live with a bare mattress when viktor walked in, leaning against the doorframe.

the brunette glanced over, blushing madly.

"uh.. i, uh—"

he didn't know how to explain that he'd never been taught how to make a bed before, because jesus christ. he's seventeen.

viktor giggled. "having trouble?"

yuuri nodded, hiding his face under his hair.

the blonde sighed, walking up to the small boy, before brushing the hair back off of his face and kneeling down to stare up into his big, chocolate brown eyes.

viktor still blushed every time he looked at them.

"you have nothing to be ashamed of," he whispered, his thumb unconsciously rubbing soothing lines on yuuri's face. "none of this is your fault."

yuuri's eyes widened, and he bit his lip, glancing away.

viktor stared at him.

"hey, look at me," viktor cracked a soft smile, using his hand under yuuri's jaw to move his face back, staring into his eyes. "look at me when i'm talking to you, little boy," he faked a stern voice. and yuuri couldn't help but smile.

viktor was so caught up in this moment, he was lost, so deep into protecting this boy that he hadn't even been paying attention to anything other than brown and holy shit adorable.

viktor's hand didn't move from yuuri's jaw, and his eyes didn't falter away from that brown, his legs slowly raising up so he could stare down at him. and yuuri stared back shyly, clutching the bottom of his t shirt. his heart thumped loudly in his chest.

viktor's thumb rubbed softly on yuuri's jaw, attempting at it's best to soothe this insecurity. what was happening right now? why did viktor feel stuck?

and yuuri gulped, blushing deeper than he thought he ever had before, staring into blue and something fucking hot. he felt so hot, his stomach churning and his neck burning as his eyes locked into a turquoise canvas.

that's all he saw. was blue.

he nearly closed his eyes, on instinct. nearly rose his hand to touch viktor's skin, and make sure this wasn't all just a fragment of his imagination, just a fantasy his dreams had made up to taunt him. and then he thought back to jumping off a bridge. and the cold water. his oxygen levels dropping. and blacking out, before waking up again to a startling blue.
