as yuuri jumped, his hair beginning to fly behind him and the cold air hitting his face

he truly realized

what he was doing.

there was no going back after this.

his life
would be over.

it sounded..
scary
yet relaxing.

he flew through the air, all of his monotone emotions seeming to just disappear as he felt the cold breeze hitting his burning skin.

for the first time in the seventeen year old boy's life,
he felt
free.

although, seconds later, all of it was taken over by a head rush as terribly ice cold water hit his body. he became engulfed by the clear liquid and soon enough all he could feel was shivers, no source of oxygen and his sight becoming darkened.

he took it in,
trying to cast out his thoughts of being scared and wanting the resurface even though he didn't know how to. he wasn't terrified of death, he wasn't terrified of drowning;

he was terrified
of never getting another chance
to start over.

he closes his eyes, his throat beginning to feel tight and his chest beginning to cave in as the lack of oxygen hit him hard. he completely shut off his mind, ignoring everything, as the sounds around him and the water piercing his body began to evaporate.

he felt himself get lightheaded,
his body shutting down
and his muscles giving way.

so he had barely even noticed
when a loud splash erupted throughout the water
and seconds later
two large,
comforting arms
hugged him by his waist.

it pulled him up, making sure the grip on the ebony haired boy was tight as they resurfaced, yuuri's mind not processing what was happening due to the lack of oxygen.

he was carried over to the shore,
laid down in the grass,
and moments later awoke, startled to someone pushing on his chest harshly.

his eyes flashed open
and the very first sight he witnessed

was a pair

of worried,
beautiful blue eyes.
