yuuri went to a home alright. and although it was viktor's, it certainly didn't feel the same as it had all those days ago. four, was it?it felt cold. it felt isolated, and dark, and suddenly, yuuri wasn't so sure he wanted to be here.
why did it feel so lonely, anyway?
"yuuri," he mumbled, and the raven turned around, his eyebrows raised slightly as he stared into blue for whatever he was going to say. but viktor just stared at him, and yuuri blushed, clearing his throat.
"y—y—"
"i'm.. uh, i'm sorry," viktor spluttered, obviously new to this. "i.. i shouldn't have— no, well, i shouldn't have been so irrational. i'm the one who started the whole damn problem and then i blocked you out as if it was your fault, but it wasn't, not even a little bit. so i'm sorry that i didn't treat you the way you deserve to be treated, i'm sorry that i made you run off today.. but p—please.. please don't go again, i want you here, i—"
"it's alright." yuuri whispered, smiling calmly. he didn't feel any desire or push to talk at that moment, and in all honesty, he just wanted to be away. from everything. "i understand."
viktor gazed at him for a moment.
"n—no, yuuri, i feel like you don't and i just feel awful.. b—because you're lovely and deserve so much and i just—"
"i t—told you it was okay, did i not?" yuuri responded quietly. "that means it's okay. i'm.. i'm not mad." the lie slipped from his lips before he could stop it.
viktor stopped, sighing heavily as he stared at yuuri. he then just shrugged his shoulders, putting a hand to his forehead.
"you say that, but i know you are.." he mumbled to himself. "it's okay though. let's just end this here."
it shouldn't have to end here.
yuuri nodded, biting his lip as he turned away, moving his feet to walk away— but something was holding him back. he wanted the god honest truth.
he heard viktor's footsteps, and as he assumed he was walking away, in reality, he was walking closer to yuuri. he wanted to be closer to him, and he didn't know why, didn't understand why he felt this way.
"tell me," yuuri snapped, closing his eyes as he voiced the words he'd been dying to ask for days, "why did you do it?"
viktor was silent. not an ounce of sound left his mouth, and yuuri sighed, picking up his feet to walk away.
"i did it because it was in the moment. it seemed like if i didn't, it would all die away."
yuuri stopped. he could've scoffed.
"are you.. what?" he whispered, turning around slowly to look into his eyes. he wanted to make sure this got through to him. "the moment? the moment?"
"yeah..what?" viktor mumbled, clearly confused as to why yuuri was upset.
the raven shut his eyes, taking in a deep breath. he needed to get this off his chest. he never got to stick up for himself, and today was the day.
