PS: So apparently this didn't publish last night. Wattpad was having problems I apologize.

The glass sat, empty, on the table in front of her. This was the third glass she had had. It had been a year since his disappearance, but she wasn't over him. She didn't think she ever would be.

"Nepeta darling, are you in there?" A voice called from the other side of her apartment door.

She groaned and her head dropped onto the table.

"I'm coming in."

The door clicked open and her best friends stepped through the door. Kanaya sat down across from her and Equius promptly took the bottle of alcohol away from her.

"Dear, are you okay?" Kanaya questioned.

Nepeta shrugged noncommittally.

"Darling, you have to stop drinking. It has been a full year now."

"I don't careeee..."

"Nepeta. You are going to kill yourself with all of this drinking," Equius stated.

She repeated her previous response and Kanaya sighed.

"We should take her to a therapist, Eq."

"Yes."

Equius picked Nepeta up and took her into her room. He laid her down on her bed and tucked her in.

"Sleep."

He retreated from her room and shut the door behind him.

"We need to find all the alcohol and get rid of it," Equius said.

"I agree."

The pair searched the apartment top to bottom and disposed of all of the hidden bottles.

Karkat stumbled out of the burning building where he had been imprisoned for the past twelve months. These people had had some vendetta with his father and had taken it out on him. He had no idea how the fire had started, but it set him free so he didn't really care all that much.

He walked until he spotted a road through the trees. He decided to follow it because it had to lead to somewhere.

By the time he spotted lights ahead the sun had risen. He passed a sign a while back that said the town was Logan" Ohio. Karkat walked into the town. He steped through the door of a general store.

"Hello? Do you have a phone I can use? I just escaped from a fire during the night and I don't have a phone," Karkat asked the lady at the counter.

"Oh my god! Of course. You can use my cell. Let me get you a change of clothes. What size do you wear?"

He told her his size and took the phone from her. He dialed the only number he knew wouldn't have changed in the last year.

"Hello? Who am I speaking with?"

"Kankri?"

"Yes? Who is this?"

"It's Karkat."

"K-karkat?"

"Yes."

"Oh my god..."

"Kanny I need you to come get me."

"Where are you?! We thought you were dead!"

"I'm in Logan, Ohio."

"I'm on my way! I will be there in like an hour. Do you have somewhere to stay until then?"

The cashier had come back by then.

"Can I hang around her for like an hour until my brother gets here to pick me up?"

"Of course."

"Yes Kanny I have a place to stay."

"Okay, good. I'll be there as soon as possible."

Karkat hung up and gave the phone back to the cashier.

"I'm Karkat. Thank you so much for your help."

"It's no problem I'm glad I could help. My name is Rebecca. It's nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, too."

The two talked until Kankri arived. He rushed through the door and pulled Karkat into a crushing hug.

"Oh my god, Karkat."

"Love you too, Kanny."

"Thank you so much for helping my baby brother..."

"Rebecca."

"Ah thank you Rebecca!"

"Kankri...lets not waste her time. I want to see Nepeta again!"

"Oh...I don't know if thats such a good idea..."

"What why!?"

"Well...you'll see."

The two said there goodbyes to Rebecca and walked to Kankri's car. They drove in silence and stopped infront of Karkat and Nepeta's apartment.

"Just prepare yourself."

"O-okay."

The two walked inside and found Equius and Kanaya sitting in the living room. The stood up and stared at Karkat in shock. Kanaya moved first and pulled him into another bone crushing hug that was quickly followed by Equius' hug.

"Where? Have? You? Been? Kakrakt Vantas?"

"I got kiddnapped," he said quietly, "Where's Nepeta?"

The other three glanced at each other. Kankri nodded at Kanaya.

"When you disappeared...she relapsed. She's already been through a bottle of whisky today."

"Oh my god..."

They gave him sympathetic looks as he walked to their bedroom.

Nepeta was sprawled across the bed staring blankly at the ceiling fan.

"N-nepeta?"

"Voices. Shut up. I don't need you to imitate him."

"Nepeta it's actually me."

He walked over to their bed and took her hand. She looked at him.

"Now I'm seeing things too."

He sighed and leaned down and kissed her. He could taste the alcohol on her lips. She didn't kiss back amd he pulled away.

"Kar-karkat? Is that actually you? Am I dead?"

"No my love. I am not dead and neither are you."

She sat up and pulled him into a passionate kiss.

"I missed you, so much," she whispered.

"I thought about you every day."

"I love you, Karkat."

"I love you too, darling."
