Cronus just wanted to see his boyfriend. He didn't understand why his dad had to be so full of problems. He just snuck out once. It wasn't that big of a deal. It's not like he was going to do drugs or something. He just wanted to talk to Kankri.

Cronus was currently lying on his bedroom floor in just a pair of pajamas pants. He had been to lazy to put on the shirt. He had also been to lazy to get onto his bed. So there he was on the floor of his silent bedroom. He was cold but he didn't want to get up.

He was thinking about his Kanny. They were going on a date in two days. They were going to see some movie. Cheesy right? I know. Cronus just was a hopeless romantic no matter how much he denied it.

He heard footsteps coming up the stairs to his room. A knock resounded through the room.

"It's open."

The door opened to reveal Dualscar. He was a tall, rugged man in his mid forties. He had broad shoulders and a set jaw. His face was very stern and he didn't look to happy.

"Would you care to explain why your little boyfriend  is standing on my porch at eight o'clock at night?"

Cronus looked up at his father unperturbed.

"I dunno."

"Get your butt up off the floor and go tell him to go home."

Cronus stood up as his father walked away. He resisted a strong urge to flip​ off his retreating back. He threw on a shirt and walked down the stairs to the front door.

"Hey," he said as he threw open the door and walked outside.

"Hello Cronus."

Cronus sat down on the porch swing and patted the seat beside him. Kankri sat down next to him.

"Dad's mad."

"I know. I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault he's an arse."

"I'm still sorry."

"It's okay. I'll deal with him."

Kankri leaned into Cronus who proceed to wrap his arm around him.

"Some day we will be off on our own. We'll have our own place and we won't have to put up with anybody."

Kankri smiled at Cronus' soft words. His eyes slid shut and Cronus knew he was imagining it.

He leaned down and kissed the top of his head.

"I love ya, Kanny."

"Mmm I love you too, Cro."

Cronus placed a hand under Kankri's chin and lifted it up. He leaned down and connected their lips in a soft kiss.

"I promise everything will be exactly the way we've always wanted. Only a year longer, my love."

The pair gazed at each other as the summer sun began to set behind them.

"I should go so your dad doesn't get even more mad."

Cronus smiled sadly, "Yeah. Want me to drive you home?"

"Sure."

Cronus went inside to get his keys and tell his dad.

He walked back outside and the pair climbed into his silver pickup. He started the engine and they pulled away from the house.

The drive was quiet except for the soft sounds of rock music spilling from the radio.

Not long after, they pulled up to Kankri's house.

Cronus parked and looked over at Kankri. They both opened their mouths to speak.

"You go first, Cro."

"Nah you can."

"Okay. Thank you for bringing me home."

"You're welcome. I was going to ask when I should pick you up Friday."

"How about around six?"

"That sounds good to me."

Cronus got out and walked around to truck to open the door for Kankri.

"Thanks, love."

"But of course."

Kankri laughed and pulled Cronus into a hug. Kankri pulled back a little and Cronus kissed him again.

"I think I should get going. I really want to be able to go to the movies with you so gotta keep my Dad appeased."

"Okay love. I will see you on Friday then."

Cronus smiled, "I love you."

"I love you too." Kankri smiled back.

Cronus got back in his truck and Kankri waved as he departed.
