Belle and I were sitting in Mickey's Diner Car/My Mom's Work, finishing our homework together. "So we have a right triangle, side a=4 and the b=3. What does c equal?" I read outloud. "Hmm," Belle thought, "so we have to square 4, which gives us 16. And 3 squared gives us 9, and 16 plus 9 equals 25. And when we squareroot 25 we get, c=5." Wow Belle is so smart. "Can I sit," I hear coach ask from behind us. When he sits down he asks, "Did you talk to the guys."
"Yeah, we tried," I said, "but they think we are traitors for even showing up."
"It's true," Belle said, "Hey Miss. Conway, may I please have some more fries." My mom looked at her for a second and then said, "of course sweetie," at that Belle continued to work on the homework.

I continued to work on my homework as Charlie and Coach were talking. I giggled a little bit when Charlie started hinting to Coach to ask his mom out. "Charlie you are too full of yourself, you know that," as he looked over and blushed. They continued to talk, my attention went back to the homework. It wasn't until I heard Charlie get upset, that my attention went back to them.
When Charlie got up out of his seat and stormed out the door, I grabbed my coat to follow him. "Charlie," Coach said. "I got him Coach," I said. "Charlie wait up," Charlie slowed down a bit so that I could catch up to him. "Hey Charlie," I said as he looked down at me, "he'll come around. He always does. Trust me. Okay?" I noticed for an eleven year old he sure was tall, he's probably half a head taller than me.
"Okay," he said, "I trust you." I opened my arms and said, "Come here." He looked at me confused for a moment. "Come on, I won't bite," I said. He eventually gave in and we hugged for a moment. It felt nice to be in his arms. with his arms around me I felt safe, safer than I've ever been before. And I was sad when it was over.

She hugged me. She actually hugged me. "Thanks Belle, I needed that," I said.

The next day in science class things took a turn for the worse.
"How'd the forfeit go, Spazway," Karp asked me. "Yeah did you score," Peter added. "Leave me alone guys. I don't want to talk about the team," I told them. "Oh yeah, sure. Coach's pet," Peter said, "Everybody knows he likes you best."
"Guys leave him alone," Belle said. "Oh yeah and what are you gonna do about it," Peter asked her. "Oh, Peter Mark, you don't wanna know, trust me. I can hurt you in more ways than you could ever imagine possible," Belle said. "Just leave Belle out of this, Peter," I said, "Plus I am not Coach's pet. He likes us all equally."
"That's right," Karp said, "you aren't coach's favorite, your mom is." That's it I couldn't stand it anymore. "You take that back," I said angrily while shoving myself up out of my seat. I shoved Karp and he shoved me. Eventually every person on the team was shoving one another. When the principal came in, she told us to sit but I was left standing because my seat was missing.
"What is the meaning of this," she asked in disbelief. We all grinned at each other and began 'quacking' at her. That gave us all a direct ticket to detention immediately after school.
While we were in detention, Coach came by and talked to the team. After a few minutes Coach was able to clear things up. Coach then told us that he was going to try to get us out of detention.
