The sun, that’s what woke me up the next morning; the stupid fucking blinding sun, well that and knocking on the door. I sighed as I sat up, sometime during the night I had stripped so I was only in my bra and underwear. I quickly pulled on my dark purple silk robe, unfortunately it was the one that barely came to mid thigh; I ignored it and opened the door, Brent stood on the other side but he looked uncomfortable when he saw me.

“Oh, sorry… You didn’t exactly tell me what time to come so I just figured nine would be fine.” He explained, I stepped back so he could come inside.

“It’s fine, let just change real quick. You can go ahead and take a seat in the living room.” I told him, he stepped inside then held up a McDonalds bag.

“I also brought breakfast.” I started back towards my bedroom but turned back when he said this.

“Oh thanks, I’m starving!” I called then disappeared into my room, I sighed and yanked off my robe; I just slipped on dark blue silk pajamas then slid my arms back through my robe before heading into the bathroom to fix my hair.

“That’s what happened?” I asked, Brent thought it would just be useful to tell me what happened from what he could see; and it had been pretty useful.

“Remember, it’s from what I saw and think what had happened.” He told me, I nodded then told him he could go home or to work; he smiled then kissed my cheek before leaving, I sighed then brought my knees up so I could rest my chin on them. I just sat there for a moment before glancing at the clock, it was around two thirty. I decided to go to Lexy’s to see if she was there or not and to tell her what Brent had, I was dreading it but I knew I had to do it; I walked back to my bedroom and looked at my options for clothes. Deciding not to overdo it I pulled on a pair of loose fitting jeans, a black shirt that left one shoulder bare then I pulled a jacket from the closet and just carried it with me. I plucked my purse from my dresser and dropped my cell in, I shoved my sunglasses on then snatched my keys from my kitchen counter before pulling on my black Jordans and locking my door and heading to Cindy.

15 minutes later…

I parked at the very end of Lexy’s driveway in case things got ugly and I stormed out, which was about 95% possible; though I hoped that wouldn’t happen, I left my jacket in Cindy and dropped my keys in my purse before making my way to the front door. I opened and closed it as quietly as I could as I walked inside, I set my purse on the stairs in case Lexy decided to start throwing things which was 99.99% possible; but she was on the phone, and her conversation made me stop from going into the living room.

“Yes I know, Friend.” She was talking to Vana, though I had no idea why they called each other friend; they started in fifth or sixth grade and has been doing it ever since, I never complained since Lexy and I had our own odd nicknames for each other. “No, we haven’t had any luck finding her.” I knew immediately she was talking about me and my ’disappearing act’. “No, you stay with Chris. I don’t want you mixed up in all this shit…” There was a pause. “Friend, it’s not that I don’t want or need you here. I really do… But I think you should just stay in Michigan. Focus on Chris and your career.” I swallowed hard as I leaned against the wall, that’s exactly what I should be doing… But instead I’m dealing with my crazy stalker ex-boyfriend, not something I like doing in my spare time.
