A/N: Here it is people! The last chapter. *silently crying*. It's just temporarily of course since  I will continue this story so don't remove it from your Wattpad just yet. I just don't know when I will be able to continue so please be patient. In the mean time however I have started on writing a new story. It is completely diffirant from this story however so if it's not your taste that's fine. It will pop up on my profile soon so if you want to know what I'm up to, just follow my page. Enjoy this last chapter and hopefully I'll see you guys soon!

Tommy was screwed. Like really, royally screwed. The past week had been amazing. After the night he and Scarlett had spent together not a single day had gone by where they hadn't been able to see one another. If they weren't able to see each other during the day, she simply snuck out during the night and found her way into his bed. They loved it; spending hours making love in the dark night before falling asleep in each other's arms. And Tommy had been able to sleep without having nightmares or hearing shovels against his bedroom wall all week. Feeling her head laying on his chest was the best feeling in the world. His body actually relaxed and he was able to sleep without using his opium pipe.

But now, while sitting at the Garrison and looking at the agenda, the dream came shattering down around him just like his heart. Black star day, as he'd called it, had been crawling closer and closer without him realizing it. Five days... just five more days and he couldn't help but think about Scarlett somehow being caught into the crossfires. He couldn't let that happen, could he? He had been selfish all week, not one moment thinking about the consequences of him and Scarlett finally being together. His childhood friend, the one he had sworn to protect, the one his heart swelled for every time he saw her. Would he be selfish enough to take that risk, to risk the life of his dearly beloved?

It was a question he was able to answer very quickly. He felt his stomach twist with nerves when he took one last glance at the agenda before closing the heavy book. He gulped down the content of his glass before standing up from his chair and walking out of the Garrison. He had a lot of planning to do in a short period of time. He just hoped it would work...

---------------------------------------------------

It was late in the afternoon when Scarlett was walking around the house cleaning up. She was planning to open the flower shop again to honor her mother's memory. She had been thinking a lot about her future the past couple of days. Since she and Tommy had spent the night she couldn't be happier. They spent every second with each other even if she had to sneak out late at night. If people would know they'd say she was a tramp but Scarlett couldn't care less about other people's opinions right now. She loved her life in Small Heath, surrounded by people that loved her and cared about her. She was finally starting to feel like herself again. Grieving her mother had been tough but having her brother back in her life had really helped the both of them. She and Kenneth had talked a lot, cried a lot and laughed a lot while they both tried to reconnect as brother and sister. Scarlett had started to really connect with Kenneth for the first time ever. Also, having the Shelbys back in her life was the best thing that could have happened. The friendship between her and Ada was back to where it once had been before Scarlett and her family left Birmingham, Arthur and John were back to caring for her as her brothers, Polly looked out for her as a mother now that Elizabeth was gone while she would finally have the chance of building a life for herself. And she couldn't imagine herself anywhere else but here in Small Heath with Tommy.
