Katherine's Point of View
I blinked and finally opened my eyes.
I was in a room that was lit by sunlight filtering in from an open door that led to an outdoor balcony.
I slowly sat up, wincing at the slight pain coming from my middle.
I felt different. I felt more alive, more....present. I got up off of the bed and walked over to a floor length mirror that was against one wall.
I was taller and my facial features were more defined. Luckily, my scar had not been touched and now it was more noticeable, which was what I wanted.
My hair was longer and brighter than any gold.
I looked closer and my eyes looked almost the same....except that now my blue-green eyes had a golden and fiery ring on the inner circle.
I snapped my fingers by my right ear, and surprisingly I heard it!
My ear had been repaired and I could finally hear again.
I moved my left wrist, but it ached as if the bones were creaking inside. I couldn't use my left hand as much as I once did.
I was wearing a dress that Arwen would have worn, a fancy dress with a scooped neckline and a trailing skirt.
Overall, I liked what I saw. I didn't look too different, but inside I felt like a completely new person.
I walked out onto the balcony and looked out, leaning on the railing.
I was in Rivendell again, but it looked more alive and vibrant than before. Or maybe it was just that I was always gloomy whenever I had been here.
The sound of the bedroom door opening made me turn around, but I still stood by the railing.
Legolas walked in, looking at the empty bed and then he saw me.
His eyes lit up and he slowly walked towards me.
He stopped when he was inches away and neither of us had said anything. I was almost at eye level with him and I met his gaze without blinking.
The silence was unbearable as our noses touched and our lips hardly brushed each other.
His blue gaze was hard, but full of emotion that I couldn't determine.
I cleared my throat.
"Uh, could you say something?" I whispered nervously, his quietness unnerving me.
Suddenly, Legolas cupped my face with his large hands and quickly kissed me desperately. I was caught by surprise and kissed him back, but I couldn't nearly match his intensity.
He pulled away and then proceeded to speak, while kissing me between each word.
"I. Missed. You. So. Much!"
I giggled as I kissed him back.
"I missed you too, but I was only asleep for a few days, not a few years." My new voice was a lot lower than my old voice.
Legolas pulled back and looked at me.
"You've been asleep for over three weeks. You almost died....you DID die!" He hugged me carefully as he said the last part.
I moved away. He was getting a little too clingy for me at the moment.
"Why do I feel different? Why do I look like this?"
Legolas shifted his feet nervously. "Well, you weren't getting better and you were dying, so I asked Elrond and Galadriel to...." He paused as if afraid to continue.
