Later on, the doctor gave Jace the okay that she could leave, and so we all headed over to her's and Dylan's house.
When we arrived, Christina was standing there in the doorway, a stony gaze in her eyes. "Where have you three been?!" She exploded after a moment.
I winced at her tone of voice, she was never this angry. When Christina saw Jace, her eyes started to tear up. "What happened to you Jace?" She asked shakily, pointing to the bandage on Jace's head.
Jace closed her eyes and sighed. She opened her mouth to explain but I beat her to it. "Christina...When we were at the party, Jace was dancing and then some guy knocked her over. She hit her head off of the ground and she fell unconscious while bleeding. I called the ambulance as soon as I found out, and then we were taken to the hospital. We were held there until now. I'm so sorry we got in late." I finished.
Christina looked at me, scrutinizing. Then her eyes softened and she hugged all of us. "I thought something bad had happened! Why didn't you call me?" She looked hurt.
Before I could speak, Dylan opened his mouth. "We didn't want to wake you in case you were sleeping. Plus, we didn't want you to freak out."
Christina sighed and rubbed her forehead tiredly. "Alright...just go upstairs and get into bed. Avril, Jessica called. She asked me to remind you about swimming lessons tomorrow. She said that you promised to do it with her. Oh, and rebuilding that house over on James street."
I slammed my hand against my forehead. "Dang it! I forgot! I have to go to bed straight away, it's really early!" I ran up the stairs, towards Jace's room.
When I reached there, I jumped-no not literally- into some pajama's and then lied down on the small love seat Jace had in her room. Almost as soon as my head hit the pillow, I fell asleep.
---Avril's dream---
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join together this man and this woman in holy matrimony. We are here to celebrate their union and to honor their commitment to one another. Today, Avril and...proclaim their love to the world and we rejoice them." I heard the minister say. The only name I'd heard in that speech was mine, which was odd.
I was in my wedding gown, which was sparkly and white and silky. The image was blurry, as if I needed glasses but wasn't wearing them. I shrugged it off, it was nothing serious, I was sure.
After the minister finished his speech, and my newly wed husband and I had kissed, although I couldn't see his face, we ran down the aisle and out of the church's double doors, laughing the entire way there. Outside, there were people throwing rose petals at us as we ran to the car that was waiting for us.
All of a sudden, we were in a house, crossing the threshold for the first time as a wedded couple.
A flash and then there was a little girl at my feet, hugging my legs and crying. "Shh, sweety," I soothed, "Daddy and I will be home soon." For some reason I had a sneaking suspicion that we wouldn't be home anytime soon.
The little girl let go reluctantly and then I walked out of the door with my husband. We got in our car and drove to a bar, for our friend's party. We greeted people we saw and drank some alcohol. I was feeling tipsy, but decided to drive home.
My husband and I were talking, looking at each other, but I couldn't see his face. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a bright white light, or a pair of bright white lights, heading towards us. My head snapped to look at them gaining on us.
