Recap...

I closed my eyes and focused on anything bu the pain I was feeling in my feet. I was feeling slightly nauseous, but nothing I couldn't handle.

A few minutes later, I heard footsteps coming over, so I opened my eyes to see who was coming with the nurse-lady to carry me to shelter. At first I only saw her, but then I saw one person who I was never expecting to see at a volunteer event. A smirk was set on his face as I just stared in bewilderment.

"Blaise?"

He waved at me, that annoying smirk still plastered on his face. Not that I could really see it very well. God knows how I saw his face...STUPID HEAT STROKE. "Hi Avril." If it was even possible, his smirk got even wider, "Having fun?"

I crossed my arms, aggravated. "Yeah, the time of my life." I said sarcastically, my head pounding even harder as I spoke. I tried to roll my eyes...but I couldn't. I closed my eyes instead, which eased the pain a bit.

I could hear him chuckling. It was deep, rich sound, and it sent chills running down my spine...but thinking of it made my head hurt more! All of a sudden, I was airborne. My eyes snapped open and I found that Blaise was carrying me bridal style. I didn't struggle, because it felt...nice. Natural. Sparks erupted all over my skin where his skin touched mine. I jerked back a bit at first but then I slowly relaxed, the exhaustion causing me to become sleepy. I think I drifted off because the next time I opened my eyes, I was lying on a bed and the nurse-lady was across the tent from me. Yes, I was on a bed in a tent. So what?

She turned to me and I blinked, my vision clearer and my head not pounding so hard against my skull now, it was more of a dull throbbing. My feet didn't hurt anymore, but I still felt a bit tired. "Oh, Avril. You're awake!" She exclaimed.

I rubbed my eyes. "How long was I out for?" I asked groggily.

"Only about ten minutes dear. Do you still feel sick, or do you think now you can start working?" She didn't say it meanly, but she said it nicely.

I sat up and, fortunately, my head didn't spin when I did so. I smiled slightly. "Yeah, I can start working. I don't feel sick anymore, and I can actually feel my feet again."

The nurse-lady smiled back. "Alright dear. Oh, and if you start to feel sick again, just get me or Micheal. By the way, my name is Suzie."

"Okay. Thanks Suzie." I thanked her, walking out of the tent with my bag.

I quickly walked over to where I saw Micheal standing, helping a younger boy build. The boy was about 14 or 15, and he was struggling to hammer the nail into the wood. Micheal saw me and left the boy for a minute. "Hi Avril! How are you feeling? Better?" He asked me with a smile.

I copied his smile. "Yeah, thanks Micheal. So, where should I start?" I questioned, looking around the construction site.

He thought for a moment before he pointed to where the front of the house would be when we were done. "How about you help that boy who carried you to the tent?"

I was about to object, but I didn't have the heart or the brains to. I nodded instead. "Okay."

"Just call me over if you need any help." Micheal smiled nicely.
