Jayden

It was the first official day of spring training and all the guys were here and accounted for. It was a newer looking team but a good looking one. They were young and they were hungry to make some history. They were quite scary if you ask me.

And only scary on the field, for this was the nicest group of guys you will ever meet. You still got the young ones like Addi and Schwarbs and the veterans like David and Jon. Then there's impact players like Almora Jr. and Javy who are so much fun to be around. And all the other guys who are just important, it's hard not to fall in love with this team.

And people are. They're already the favorites to win over a hundred games and the World Series. And it's not just because they're great players, because they are, but because they're great people too. They're young and fun and Joe has quite a lot going on around here. Although it's just the first day I'm sure he has some stuff up his sleeves. Always does.

And if that wasn't enough, Kris and Anthony are apparently in a relationship under the name Bryzzo, they're a little too into if you ask me. It's fitting they got a ship name considering they're in love though. It was only a matter of time before those two found a way to be so extra.

While the guys go meet their new teammates the girls who made it out to Mesa went out for lunch. We sit around the table and catch up and other stuff.

"How are you feeling" Jon's wife Farrah asks me.

"I'm getting better. I still feel a bit off but my tissues and muscles are pretty much fixed and good to go" I explain.

"That's nice to hear. Did you get my card" she asks.

"I did, thank you so much. I felt so loved while I was there, and I needed that in the worst ways. I'm sending out thank you cards when we get home" I say.

"To everyone" she gasps.

"Yup" I laugh.

"How many did you get" she asks.

"Over five hundred cards and other things. I got all the cards written out but I just got to send them" I explain.

"That's a crazy amount to be writing" she insists.

"I had a lot of time in there" I admit.

"Well I'm happy you're doing better. It would have been the shame if you couldn't be here with us" she insists.

"Well thanks, I'm glad to be here" I smile.

We order some drinks and finger foods as we wait for the boys to get done with their meeting with Joe. Theo has a big announcement and everyone was buzzing about what it could be. Maybe a shirt with some quirky saying on it or cool new gloves.

"Hello ladies" someone says and we all turn around. We collectively gasp as Dexter Fowler's wife Darya stood in the door frame.

"No fucking way" I scream and everyone just laughs at me. "What the hell are you doing" I ask engulfing her in a hug. I wrap my arms around her right so she knows how much I missed her

"Well I had to bring my husband to spring training" she claims.

"But everyone said he signed with the Orioles" I say.

"They did, but he didn't" she smiles.

"So he's here" I ask.

"He is. He couldn't leave without getting the World Series back to Chicago" she claims.

"Oh I'm so happy you're here" I squeal.

"I'm happy to be here" she nods.

We head to the table and she catches up with old friends and meet the new ones. Everyone was static her and dexter was back because that only makes our team stronger. Plus I love their daughter.

After lunch I head back to the hotel. Kris and I had our stuff in there and enough food to last us for the next month. We wouldn't always be here once they start doing Cactus League games but for the most part this was home for a while.

I kick off my shoes and decide to take out my guitar. I never seem to find a shortage of inspiration around here. The people and the atmosphere is always something you can put your faith in.

I play to myself for a little until I hear the door unlocks. It swings open making me jump and I hear Anthony and kris talking a mile a minute.

"You'll never guess what happened today" Anthony nearly yells into the hotel room.

"Dexter came back" I say and they both stop their rambling and look at me.

"How in the hell did you know that" he asks.

"Darya came to lunch. Plus it's all over the sports news" I shrug.

"Awww you get our notifications sent to your phone" Kris asks and I laugh.

"Yes but not the point" I insist.

Anthony sits on the couch next to me and and nooks looks down at my notebook.

"So this is what you've been doing all day" he asks.

"Since lunch yeah" I say.

"Come hang out with us" he whines poking my side.

"Okay" I agree pushing his hand away. "Where are we going" I ask.

"Why don't we go to the water park" Anthony suggests.

"Yeah" I say happily.

"No" Kris says.

"No" I ask.

"No" he says holding up a bottle of pills I have to take. I honestly forgot about that for a second.

"Okay, so that's a no go" I admit.

"Let's go to the museum" Kris suggests.

"I'm down" I admit.

"Me too" Anthony agrees.

We all change and head into town for the night. We get to the museum and Kris takes my hand in his as we walk around. We try our best to keep Anthony off the displays which was hard but manageable.

"He's like a kid" Kris laughs as we watch Anthony take a selfie with a dinosaur.

"I think he's harder to take care of than a child" I admit.

"Do you ever think about us having kids" he asks me and I turn to him.

"Yeah" I admit.

"Really" he asks.

"Yeah! I like the thought of a little kid who has the best parts of me and you running around" I shrug.

"When do you want kids" he wonders.

"I don't really want to plan for one. When we're ready I would like to think we will have one" I explain.

"I like that" he admits.

"And I love you."
