Jayden
After a pretty good start to the season the boys finally return home for the home opener. Of their first two series of the season they only lost one game and even then it was by one run. They were turning out to be just as advertised and maybe even better.
Unfortunately for us we already lost a guy for the season, and a really promising guy. Somehow big bad Kyle collided with Dex and Kyle ended up being the one that got hurt. It's going to suck without Schwarbs, he's a young talent and a pure joy to be around. I was going to miss him but I knew he wouldn't be gone too long.
As for opening night there was a few things to be done. Jake and Joe and Kris were all going to be recognized for the trophies they brought in over the offseason and Jason will get his golden glove he won with the Cardinals. Then the national anthem will be sung by yours truly then there will be a baseball game to be played. I'm sure the nerves will be high but everyone is pretty excited.
I sit in the closet in our apartment in Chicago looking through the mountains of clothes I had, trying to figure out what to wear. It was surprisingly warm for a mid April game, so that expanded my options some.
"Watcha thinking about" Kris asks sitting on the bed behind me.
"A lot actually. But for starters I need to find a outfit for tonight before I start worrying about everything else" I admit.
"Well you hate wearing pants" he starts.
"That is very true" I admit.
"So I would say a dress or a skirt. And since it's going to be light out and you love the color of the sky above Wrigley when it's clear like this I would say something colorful" he adds on.
"You're a smart man" I smile.
"I like that one" he says pointing to one of my favorite dresses.
"You have some pretty good taste" I admit.
"I pay attention to you" he defends.
I slip off my sleeping shorts and tank top I was wearing all day. I've changed many of times in front of Kris so this wasn't anything new. I sure as hell wasn't going to walk all the way to the bathroom when everything I needed was right there.
I stand in my bra and underwear and try to figure out which bra to put on and if I need to wear spandex. The bra won't matter as much because I was covered up top so it can be the most comfortable one but do I really want to risk a Brittany Spears moment tonight?
I go through my dresser and find some shorts to throw on because they might be uncomfortable but they're not as uncomfortable as my lady parts on a magazine somewhere.
I find a black pair of Nike pros and decide those will do. I turn to go finish getting dressed but run into Kris. He stares down with bright blue eyes as he licks his lips.
"Hey there" I say looking up at him.
He doesn't say a word as he takes the shorts out of my hands. I let the material slide through my fingers as he tosses them to the side.
"Do you really think I was going to let you walk around here looking like that" he asks.
"I was hoping you would" I laugh.
"Well, I'm not" he smirks. He takes his fingers and slips them under my bra straps. Slowly he knocks them off my shoulders as they fall to my side. He starts to slowly kiss along my collar bone allowing a moan to escape.
"Kris" I gasp.
"Yeah baby" he whispers in my skin.
"I gotta get ready" I insist.
"I'm helping you get undressed" he claims and I giggle. He unhooks my bra and lets it fall to the floor. He pulls me into a deep kiss and my eyes slam shut. He lightly pushes me into the bed and I crawl up there.
"You're not helping" I tease.
"I think I am" he claims.
"How so" I challenge.
"Because I can make you feel good" he claims.
"Yes you can" I smile.
Once he finally lets me do what I needed to do we get to the field. Fans were already there waiting to get inside and see their favorite players. Some fans hoping this is the start of the end of the curse they have endured their whole entire life.
I get inside and down to the field. I stand with Kris' parents who were standing by Jake and Joes family on the field as the boys get ready. Although it was a special occasion here they still have a game to win.
"How are you guys liking the new apartment" Kris' mom Sue asks.
"It's great! The kitchen is beautiful and it's a lot easier to get to and from work for both of us" I admit.
"Can we expect any new music from you" she asks.
"You sure can! I'm not sure when but I've been working on it. I've recorded some tracks and I'm playing with some arrangements. There's a lot I want to tell so I don't think it will be too long before I put some music out there again" I nod.
"That's great to hear. I love your music" she smiles and I feel my heart skip a beat. Kris' mom was always so freaking sweet and kind, I feel like I'm going to get a cavity just talking to her.
"Thanks Sue, means a lot coming from you" I admit.
"How are you feeling. We meant to come out and see you guys at spring training but we couldn't find the time" she insists.
"I'm doing better. The medicine I'm on works well and we haven't had any issues since I left the hospital. I still feel pretty beaten up but I have not a thing to complain about" I explain.
"Well I am more than happy to see you out here, I know it's been a while since you've been in public. I read what you said in People magazine and I hope you know I've been rooting for you" she insists.
"I really appreciate that. I can use all the good vibes I can get" I chuckle.
"Well it is really good to see that you sound and look amazing. I love your dress" she insists and I laugh.
"Kris picked it out" I inform her and her eyes go big.
"Seriously" she asks.
"Yeah. He's pretty good at it" I admit.
"You guys are actually the cutest" she claims.
"We try" I shrug.
