After trying to catch up on sleep from the time zone changes and all, it comes time for the first show of the Heart Wide Open world tour. I was both so very excited and so very nervous.

I chose to do a causal type of themes with my outfits for the show. Nothing outlandish, my music was very sit down and listen not stand up and scream. Some of them were a little more uptempo but just like foot tapping, not hardcore head banging.

Since it was the first concert I wanted to be comfortable and free. So I decide a oversized floral dress would be great with some sandals so my feet don't hurt. I leave my hair wavy and kinda like a hippie before adding in some earrings and calling it a day.

I come out of the bedroom and see Kris and Manny playing something on the play station Manny brought with him to pass time while on tour.

"Are you guys about ready" I ask.

"Right after I kick his ass" Kris claims.

"Yeah right pretty boy" Manny chirps back.

"Well at least somebody's relaxed" I laugh.

They finish up their game and I go over to the arena for soundcheck. The place was empty and had a great echo so I do my vocal warm ups in peace. I look out to the thousands of seats in the open arena and smile. The whole tour was totally sold out and places like this are going to packed to the brim with people who want to see me? That just doesn't seem right.

"Wow" Kris gasps as he follows me in.

"This is insane" I whisper.

"This is so cool" he admits.

He comes over and picks me up by my waist. He spins me around before setting me down. He keeps me close as he fixes my hair since he just messed it up.

"I am seriously so proud of you" he insists and I feel my heart skip.

"Thank you" I smile. "And thanks for coming with me. I couldn't imagine coming here and not having you by my side" I admit.

"I can't wait to go around Europe and see all these cool things with you" he agrees.

I warm up a little more and walk around the stage. I look around as the band gets set up behind me. I sit on the end of the stage and kind of sing to myself. I do that a lot. I watch my feet kick back and fourth as I continue to space off.

"There she is. My shining star" Tyler says walking across the stage. He sits next to me and nudges my side.

"Are you ready for this" he asks.

"As ready as I will ever be" I sigh.

"You're not nervous, are you" he asks.

"Not really. Just anxious" I admit.

"Don't be, you'll be great" he insists.

"How do you know that" I ask.

"Because not too long ago I was at a loss. I hadn't signed anyone worth noting in a really long time and I was watching music be devalued right in front of me. What I needed was a miracle, and in walked you. Those tryout you were at, there were three hundred kids at those auditions and six people were getting picked. And in walked you without your papers performing everything we had for you plus some. Your presence was strong and your voice soft. You were able to sell that same old love story like it was brand new, and we all bought it. Out of all those kids there we all fought over you. We argued for ten minutes before the next person even came in. I felt like I was on the original American idol arguing about your future.

But I up and left after we talked about you, for I saw all I needed. Sure, there was a lot of talented people there that day and many deserved a contract. But I knew that you were just what I, what music, needed. So I broke code and contacted you before the others could. I knew I could get in trouble but I wanted you signed and making music as soon as possible. And you met my fire with a fire of your own. A passion to make music and spread it across the world and now look at us.

I know I haven't made this easy for you. I've thrown a lot of shit your way and ask a lot of you. You're still young and new and that's what makes what you're doing what you're doing all the more impressive. You might not feel like it but but you're doing great. I always knew you would, never a doubt in my mind. That first meeting you came up to me with ideas and lyrics and so much hope, and it never dies. The things you're doing can't be forced. You're a natural kid, and this is just the beginning" he claims.

"Thank you so much for everything. For trusting me and my vision, for understanding that what I'm doing isn't just making music but making art, for allowing me to do what I do even though it isn't what everyone else is doing. I mean... I couldn't imagine working alongside anyone else. You and your family, you guys are so awesome. You've done so much for me I can't even put into words how thankful I am" I insist.

"You're like my daughter I birthed into music" he says and I giggle. "And while I'm well aware that is a unusual thing to say, I'm standing behind it. I love watching you do what you do" he claims.

"Wait... why are you here" I ask.

"Doing some promo. Believe it or not you're my top selling artist and there's a lot of people dying to see you and have you promote them and stuff like that. And we're in the global market now. Also... do you have any idea how hard it was to get a ticket to this thing" he asks and I laugh.

"I wouldn't" I admit.

"It's damnhard. I might be sneaking my guests in the back" he claims.

"Good luck with that. Manny is in a mood because Kris beat him in call of duty" I say and he groans.

"Great" he mumbles.

"Slip him beef jerky and he shuts right up" I suggest and he points at me.

"I'm going to do that" he claims and I laugh. He gives me a hug before darting off, always has somewhere to be.

Eventually it comes time and the opening act was off the stage and my stage was set up. I wait for my cue to come and it finally does. I take a deep breath as I walk out to the stage. I look out at all the smiling faces and realize that I have been dreaming of this exact moment my whole life. I have been waiting for this moment and it's finally here.

The spotlight hits me and the arena erupts. People of all ages and all genders were out there with their arms above their heads. Most of them out of their seats as the try to get a glimpse of me. Of me?

"Hey everyone" I say and they cheer louder. I smile to myself as I take a second to let this sink in. "Thank you for joining me tonight. This is my first ever concert and I have to admit the adrenaline is rushing, but we're going to have a lot of fun tonight. We can have a heart to heart and maybe learn something about ourselves we didn't know before. I'll try to keep up with you guys as much as I can" I admit. I set my microphone on the stand and turn to the band.

"Hit it."
