Faith POV

"Heavenly Father, you have not made us for darkness and death, but for life with you for ever.Without you we have nothing to hope for with you we have nothing to fear. Speak to us now your words of eternal life. Lift us from anxiety and shine the light and peace of your presence, and set the glory of your love before us;through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."

The priest said his last words before he walked away and leaved us to grieve

It was strangely beautiful, the way the fire shined over the water, the way the small burning boat floated away. I glanced over at Nicklaus who was a few feet from me his eyes were full of pain and loss. He had saved my life today, but it cost him the life of his father. I knew all to well how that pain felt. The day my mother disappeared, and the days after that were the worst of my life.

I suddenly closed the long distance between us and was standing only a few inches away from him at his side. We did not speak we just watched the burning boat float away. I just wanted him to know that I was here. Here for him whenever he needed me and I always would be.

"He wasn't much, but he was my father." He mumbled.

I looked down at his hand that was dangling loosely at his side then with one move he placed his hand in mine, and managed to shoot me a small smile, it was the perfect end to a so not perfect day.!

"What are you doing Clare?" Lex's called out from the kitchen of my mothers home.

We returned a few hours after the funeral, I mean where else would we have gone? We would Surely not go back to Nicklaus's house after the events of today and why was I thinking in a old fashioned way in my head? I sighed. I really can't wait to leave this place.

"What does it look like I am doing? I'm packing you fool" she yelled back.

She was at the other end of the room scooping everything she could find in a old, nearly torn apart brown cloth sack.

Leave it to Clare to start packing like she was about to leave for a vacation instead of travel 400 years back to the future

"Babe you don't need any of this stuff. How about the first thing we do when we get back is go shopping? You always loved dragging me around to countless amounts of stores and spending loads of cash. How does that sound?"

She turned around with the halfway full brown bag in her hands and casually Walked to the other end of the room flashing lex a playful glare and then started filling up the bag again.

"You think I really want to keep any of this crap? Hell no! I wanna become rich! We can sell all the antique things and get loads of cash"

She turned around with a huge smile on her face.

"Then you can take me on all the shopping sprees you want"

I could not help but laugh at how much thought she put in to this. I walked out of the kitchen and into the living room were my mother, Mary , and Nicklaus sat around the table talking.

"I just don't know about it. I'm kinda of scared to go to the future. What if its not what I thought. What if it has nothing I want?" He his hands wrung nervously.

"How could Netflix and cars not be what someone wanted?"

I said sarcastically leaning on the door frame happy to be almost on our way back to the future.

"Faith, not now" my mother said shooting me a glare.

"What is Netflix and cars?

Nicklaus and Mary asked almost identically.
