It was late. You didn't know how late, but at the same time, you didn't really care. The Creeper had appeared on your doorstep, as he had taken a habit of doing lately, and you were more than eager to spend time with him. You knew better than to ask him what he was doing in your neck of the woods, knowing how it would most likely involve him hunting for something new. You suspected he might need a new set of eyes soon. He was a lot more cautious with his step than he was in the past.
You tried not to think about it. You were content enough with the fact that he was here and you could snuggle while the two of you watched some trashy late night talk show. His arms were wrapped tight around you, holding you close to him. His protectiveness of you was just one more reason that you loved him.
However, you were fading fast. When the Creeper had arrived, you were determined to stay up and spend time with him before he left. Your body had other ideas, though, as your eyelids grew heavy and your head began to fall against the Creeper's chest.
Immediately, the Creeper noticed your growing fatigue. Before you could even protest, he was scooping you up in his arms and carrying you to your bedroom. You sleepily insisted that you were fine, that you didn't need to go to bed yet, but the Creeper was hearing none of it. Deep down, though, his concern for you made you feel all warm and fuzzy.
Once he had reached your bedroom, he set you down on your bed with all the gentleness in the world. You pulled the covers over yourself, snuggling deep into your pillows. You felt his clawed fingers delicately brush a few strands of hair from your face. A sleepy smile made it's way onto your face. You were sure to drift off in no time.
And that's when the first clap of thunder sounded.
You sat bolt upright in bed, your heart thudding in your chest. You never had been one for thunderstorms. The deep rumbling of thunder and bright flashes of lightning always made your adrenaline spike. Sensing your anxiety, the Creeper was quick to climb onto your bed. Instantly, you were enveloped in his tight embrace, something of a soft purr vibrating through his chest. You gladly snuggled closer, grateful the Creeper was here to comfort you. The thought of being alone right now was definitely not ideal.
A bolt of lightning illuminated your dimly lit room and you turned away, hiding your face in the Creeper's chest. You heard the sound of something ripping, something like fabric. You glanced up to see what it was and were surprised to see that the Creeper had freed his wings from his coat and encircled them around you, effectively shielding you from everything. It was like you were wrapped up in your own little world, with you and the Creeper as the only inhabitants.
You looked up at him, a smile spreading on your face. "Thank you," you said softly. "This is really sweet. I feel so safe like this."
The Creeper responded by pressing a surprisingly gentle kiss to your lips. You gladly returned it, cupping his face with both hands to bring him that much closer. You pulled back and the Creeper gave you his signature cheeky grin. He knew it always made you laugh and sure enough, you couldn't stop the giggle that escaped your lips. The Creeper growled playfully, a sound you had come to recognize and love as his own unique laugh.
"Would you stay with me tonight?" You asked, looking up to meet his cloudy eyes once more. "You seem to know just what to do to make me feel better."
Without even a moment's hesitation, the Creeper nodded, showing off those sharp teeth of his in a genuine smile this time. You let out a noise of excitement and wrapped your arms around the back of his neck in a hug. You felt his arms snake around you in return as he carefully leaned back on your bed with you lying comfortably on top of him. His wings acted almost like a blanket in the way they were draped over you, making you feel safe and secure.
Snug in the Creeper's embrace, it wasn't long before you drifted off to sleep.

When morning rolled around, you awoke feeling more well rested than usual. It was normal that you didn't get much sleep if there was a thunderstorm, so you were glad the Creeper had been here, holding you close throughout the night.
Slowly, you opened your eyes. The room was bathed in a crisp morning light. You were still nestled comfortably on top of the Creeper and he held you just as snugly as he did when you fell asleep. His eyes were closed and you briefly wondered if he might be sleeping, but that thought was quickly erased as you saw those bleary eyes open, looking your way.
"How did you know I was awake?" You asked. "Did I move or something?"
The Creeper nodded. You merely smiled. You were constantly amazed by how...aware he was of everything you did. He knew every little quirk and behaviour that made you you and honestly, you loved it.
"Well, I guess we'd better get up," you sighed, knowing how you were going to miss the feeling of his arms and wings wrapped around you. "Do you want to stay for breakfast? I don't think I've got anything on hand that you'd like, but, I mean, we can just hang?"
The Creeper nodded again, an enthusiastic growl resonating deep in his chest. You smiled and scooted forward, giving him a quick peck on the lips before the two of you got out of bed, ready to start the day together.
