Why me?

"Darth Vader is looking for me?" I could barely manage to speak. When I was younger, I lived in a girls school dormitory, and the older girls would tell the younger ones ghost stories of a monster called Darth Vader. They had terrified me when I was little, but the scarier thing as I grew older was learning that the stories were true. Exaggerated, of course, but true all the same.

"Why... why would he be looking for a random smuggler like me?" I spat out. I realized that these two could be lying to me, just trying to steal from me or maybe they really were Passik's thugs, that filthy slimo will never get over the fact I have more clients than him. "How do I even know you are telling me the truth? You might not even be part of the Rebellion."

"It makes complete sense for you not to trust us right away, but do you know who Princess Leia Organa is?" Kanan said, whispering her name, as it was one of controversy.

"Of course! She is the princess of Alderaan, and from some of the rumors I have heard, secretly in arms with the Rebellion." Her planet had always been one of the main places my clients wanted information on, and I have always wanted to see it for myself. Whenever off-worlders would come into this diner, the young kids in town would hound them with questions. One of the most popular ones being what had been the most beautiful place they had ever seen, with their answer usually being Alderaan. "What's she got to do with any of this?"

"Well, you're right, she is a major member of the Rebellion, and we brought a message from her to you with us." Kanan nodded to Zeb, who then opened the backpack that he had brought in with him. He reached in and grabbed a holodevice and placed it on the table.

"Listen girl," Zeb spoke, "if you watch this, if you want to live, I would highly recommend packing whatever you hold dearest, and meet us in docking bay 13. We leave just before dawn, with or without you." He stood up, slung the backpack over his giant shoulder, and began to exit the diner. Kanan, however, stayed behind for a moment.

"We are risking a lot showing you this, but the Rebellion needs to know why the Emperor himself wants to find you." Kanan said, as if I knew the answer. My eyes shifted from the device in front of me to him. I couldn't help but wonder why he wore that mask, but I knew better than to ask.

           "Trust me, so do I."

It's almost time for her to meet the rest of the crew! I'm very excited! Sorry it is a short one but it just felt right to end it here. Also, would just like to mention the fact that it has been a full year since our Space Queen passed away. I miss her like crazy. We love and miss you Carrie Fisher, rest in peace and my the force be with you, always.
