I walked towards Kanan and the Ghost, laughing a little. "Thanks for having me, and saving me from my impending doom. To be quite honest, I still don't even know why I am here."

"Do any of us? I see you've met Ezra." Kanan said jokingly. I was surprised by his comment, thinking him a more stoic man than funny, but never judge a book by it's cover I suppose. "Let me introduce you to the rest of the crew, and then you can get settled."

It was an ironic choice of words, because as soon as it left his mouth, a blaster shot rang out with in the hangar. I turned around to see a squad of stormtroopers entering the room. How had they already found me? Or had they been looking for these rebels? Either way, we were in this together now.

"Get to the ship!" Ezra yelled, and then proceeded not to get to the ship. Instead he turned around, as if he thought he could take on the whole squadron himself.

What was he thinking? I had just met the guy but I had a feeling he wasn't that  good at fighting. I ran towards the ship, leaving him behind. I mean, it wasn't my fault if he died, right? My caring side knew better than that, so as soon as my feet touched the ships entrance, I turned around, stunning blaster aimed.

When I turned around however, it wasn't just Ezra standing there. Kanan walked beside him, dodging blaster bolts. Suddenly, an odd shrieking sound ripped through the air. An almost blinding light came from where the two men were somehow fighting off all of the stormtroopers. The hangar was lit with hues of blue and green coming from... coming from their lightsabers!

I was taken out of my awe, when a young woman grabbed my shoulder, and turned me around.

"Hey sweetheart, you gonna be a member of the crew? Do your part!" She took two blasters, out of the holsters that were wrapped around both of her legs and began shooting at the troopers below.

She was right. I needed to focus. I lifted my blaster again, but I noticed my ring had fell off, and was on the ground, next to Ezra's foot. I couldn't leave it behind, so before I had time to think, I was already running towards it.

I heard the girl behind me yell, "What are you DOING?"

I ignored her. I was not  about to lose the only trace I had of who I was. As I was running, I could practically feel the blaster bolts racing by my head. How I wasn't dead yet was a complete mystery to me. Before I could get to my ring, however, Ezra and Kanan began to retreat. They turned around and ran towards the ship I was running from. Now maybe I was the one that was insane.

"Bria! Get back to the ship! There are too many of them!" Ezra tried to grab my arm to stop me, but I shook him off. I dove towards the ring and picked it up from the dirt. I slipped it back on, and looked up from where I was situated. Instead of the normal troopers, there was a completely new squadron of shadow troopers.

One of them pointed to me. "Stun and capture her. Kill the rest."

Behind me, Ezra and Kanan were at the ship's entrance, calling to me. Out of nowhere everything around me seemed to slow down and come into focus. I could hear the squeaking of the shadow troopers boots, and my newly found crewmates heavy breathing. I could sense they were about to run towards me, though I wasn't looking their way. I was looking at the troopers though, and I could see one of them getting ready to throw an imploder to the Ghost.

Anger surged through me giving me a new found energy. I wanted this pointless battle to be over. I wanted to leave this planet. To leave the place my "family" had seen fit for my abandonment. I wanted to destroy whoever was going to be in my way, and that trooper was about to ruin my only path to freedom.

Then all at once the imploder went off, but it hadn't left the troopers hand. All I could hear was a loud, constant ringing in my ears. My vision was blurry, but I couldn't see any of the shadow troopers left. I tried to pull myself off the ground, but the adrenaline I had gained already disappeared, as though it was never there.

I felt someone lift me off the ground, and I fell into darkness.
