I pay no attention to the mysterious voice and start to panic. The video has to be faked, there is no way I did that. I don't even remember doing it. "How- how did you do that? That's not me... it can't be."
"I saw it with my own eyes, Bria. You did this, you saved all of us." Ezra looked at me, a confused look plastered on his face. "Why?"
"More like, how? It would've been a little helpful to know you have the force." Kanan said, laughing a little.
"I didn't even know, so how could I have told you. I still don't think this is real anyway. You guys could be lying. I need to get off this ship. You guys are crazy." I stood up to leave.
"We're already in hyper-space, where are you going to go?"
"I could take over the ship."
"Yeah, that's a really good idea. Try to take over a ship against two jedi, 3 soldiers, and a cranky droid. That will go real well." Kanan said sarcastically. "Just let us talk to you about what happened. We are only trying to understand."
"Me too, trust me." I mumbled under my breath. I sighed and responded,"Fine, but only because I'm curious to see how you made that video...and because your droid, Chopper, is very intimidating."
They both laughed this time, and I was thankful. If I could make them laugh, that means my very charming personality (though some clients called it arrogance) was back, and the fogginess of my brain was clearing up. Plus, hearing the two boys laugh was entertainment within itself. I sat back down and Kanan began to speak again, drawing my attention.
"Listen, we don't have any way to prove it, other than that video and our entire crew's word." After he had said that, the odd feeling I had earlier in the diner returned to my core. It, yet again, told me to trust them. While the feeling was strong, I still couldn't just deny my brain's distrust for some random feeling I got. I needed proof, real proof.
You need me again already then, hmmmm? Fine, just so you can become aware of your abilities. You will need to be somewhat trained before our meeting...
The deep voice returned once again, and as soon as it spoke, the light feeling I had, felt as if it was ripped from me, and replaced with something much heavier, but more powerful. It was overwhelming. I felt as if I was about to drown, and the only way to breathe again was to scream.
Suddenly, the cup in front of me exploded, glass shards flying everywhere. I felt one cut my arm. I saw Ezra move his arms to cover his face and he gasped in pain. I turned towards Kanan, but nothing had hit him.
"I'm so sorry! I don't know what just happened." I stood up and pushed the plate away from me.
"You apologized though. Does that mean you did this?" Kanan questioned. "Do you believe us now?" I took a few steps back until I ran into the wall.
"I-I guess. I didn't mean to do this! I just got this sudden overwhelming feeling, like I was-"
"Like you were drowning." Ezra finished my sentence. I looked at him, but he was staring at the ground. "And the only way you could get out, was giving in."
"Yes, exactly like that," I said, surprised he knew exactly what I was going through. "How did you..." I cut myself off, deciding now was maybe not the right time for that question. Kanan looked as if he was about to say something to Ezra too, but I guess he also thought better of it. An empty silence filled the room.
"Well, I guess there's my proof, huh?" I say, laughing awkwardly.
Ezra looked up quickly and said, "This must be why Vader is after you. He must've found out somehow."
"How could he, or anyone, know before I did? Nothing like this has ever happened to me before."
"Well a while ago, when I was meditating, I felt a shift in the force, and not the good kind. It must've been Vader sensing your power. The only thing I still don't understand is, why is Vader himself chasing you? Normally, he sends Inquisitors for this kind of thing." Kanan also stood up, and moved towards the door. "That's a conversation for another day. For now, get some rest and food. I will go find you another cup and some bandages."
He left the room without another word, leaving Ezra and I alone.
My arm began to sting, so I rolled up my long sleeve and looked at the cut. Luckily, the glass wasn't stuck in the cut but it might scar a little. I sat down on the floor, still inspecting the wound. I heard Ezra move, and he moved to sit next to me. As he sat, I saw the fresh cut on his hand now forming a little blood.
"Oh my gosh, are you okay?" I grabbed his hand, and examined his palm. This would definitely need to be wrapped up in something to help it heal.
"It's no big deal. I've had worse."
"It looks painful. I'm really sorry, I feel terrible. I didn't know that was going to happen and-"
"Bria. It's okay." I looked up and Ezra's eyes were staring into mine, creating a very intimate moment. Immediately feeling out of place, I stood up and cleared my throat.
"Well, Jedi," I said a little mockingly, trying to shift the mood of the room, "why don't you take me on a tour of this lovely ship. I don't think I've seen one of this model before."
Ezra jumped up and nodded. "Sounds like a plan. We should probably help Kanan find some bandages anyways. We tend to go through those pretty quickly. Hera will probably make us go to the market again."
We walked towards the door, and he pushed a red button on the wall. The door slid open revealing a small, brightly lit hallway. There were rooms across and next to the one we were just in. It felt, lived in. Like if the walls could talk, they would have endless stories of this squads adventures. I can already tell this ship, the Ghost, was their home.
Ezra stepped into the hall in front of me and bowed.
"Ladies and gentlemen, you are sure in for a treat today! You get to tour the infamous ship, the Ghost! If you turn this way you will find the terrifying Sabine Wren's natural habitat but don't get to close, as she is very protective of her territory."
"You know I can hear you, right Ezra?" Sabine calls from inside her bedroom.
"I do now!" he yells back. Then he turns to me and whispers, "We better move on before one of us gets killed."
I laughed quietly, scared to let Sabine hear. Something tells me it would be a very bad idea to get on her bad side. Ezra, clearly proud he made me laugh, continues our tour of the Ghost. I follow him around the ship, listening eagerly and beaming. I start to forget what had happened earlier, and actually enjoy myself. Something that hasn't happened for a long time.
