Elena's P.O.V

"How was your lunch?"Cal asked as we walked to a patient's room.

"It's was fine."I replied with a shrug trying to act like it was a normal lunch.

"Where did you go?"Cal asked as he opened the patient door.

I looked at him. "Last time I checked this isn't a integration." And I rolled my eyes.

"Just asking questions a concerned friend would ask."Cal said with a shrug.

"There's no reason to be concern, he's a great guy."

"What if it's just a facade?"Cal suggested as we walked into the room. "What if he's just doing all of this for something else?"

"He isn't like that."I said as I rolled my eyes again. "And you shouldn't be worried about me or anything to do with me."

"Fine then."Cal said as he rolled his eyes.

We walked to the end of the bed and looked at the clipboard in front of us.

"Yenny Paulina?"I asked as I looked up from the clipboard.

"Yes that is me."She replied with a weak smile.

"My name is Elena, Im here on behalf Dr Meldez me and Cal."I said with a smile. "We understand you've just been told about your condition then."

She nodded. "Yes I have."

"Well we have to do a few more tests to rule out anything else."Cal spoke as he looked at her with a sweet smile. "Do you have anyone who could be with you now?"

"I-I have my s-sons."She stuttered as her lip trembled. "And my daughter."

"Where could they be?"I asked. "I could contact them for you for them to be here."

"It's fine."She replied. "I don't want them here for this, they don't need to see it."

"If you are sure then."Cal said with a nod. "So first, we have do a camera to go down your throat."

She nodded. "Now?"

"Yes if you want."I added with a smile.

"I'll do it now then."She said quietly looking down at her hands.

"I'll go get what is needed."Cal said then left the room.

I walked over to her. "Are you sure you don't want me to call your kids?"

She looked at me, her eyes brimming with tears. "No mija, I don't want to trouble them with this."

I took a hold of her hand and gave it a little squeeze. "You gave them life, I'm sure they would want to be troubled with this."

A tear streamed down her face, her free hand she wiped it away. "I don't want to."

I nodded. "Then I won't."

"But can you stay here through the whole procedure?"

"Yes of course I will!"

I walked into the apartment and let out a little sigh, feeling ever so sorry for Yenny but if I contacted her kids i would be breaking the rules of her wishes.

"Hey, how was work?"Ari asked as she sipped on a can of coke.

"How is it whenever I come back from work you always have something to eat or drink in your hand?"

"Oh okay, what the hell happened to you?"

I walked over to the couch and slumped in the couch. "Nothing."
