I close my laptop and sigh. I look over the crowd of people searching for my dad, Lans Williams, he is the best dad ever, long and proud. With his signature brown eyes and blond hair .He looks good for 40.Being a fire fighter, his body stays in shape.
I spot my dad and head over to him, where he is talking to one of his team mates, Ryan Plums. He says they were old buddies from collage."Hey Ry" I greet and give him a small wave.
"Hey kiddo" he says and his brows knit together, "You haven't come to a game in a long time" he remarks.
Before I can answer my dad speaks, "she hasn't been playing by the rules lately and now I'm back to baby sitting." He says putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Oh my gosh" I whisper, pulling my hand through my long red hair looking away.
"I'm going to get something to drink" I say before my dad starts telling everybody that his little princess even farts.
"Amber?" Ry calls. I turn around and he continues, "My children have joined me, I want you to meet them after you get a cold drink" I just smile to him and turn around walking to the bar. No this isn't illegal, this is the bar where all the dart games go down. That means it's more like a family friendly place.
I walk to the bar and try to attract the bartender's attention but he is to busy flirting the pants of that poor girl to notice me. I climb over the bar and take a soda out the fridge putting the money on the counter. I turn around to walk out behind the counter when I heard a small voice, "Excuse me?" The little girl says. Climbing onto one of the empty bar chairs.
She has shortish light blond hair with smashing ivy green eyes. She can't be older than 7 years old. I look at her and she smiles at me, showing me her two missing front teeth,"hey there" I greet her friendly.
She stuck out her hand to me and I smiled at the action and took her hand in my own,"I'm Sammie ,I'm six" she said it with her "s" drawn out because of her missing teeth.
I smiled to her,"I am Amber Williams, I am 18." I tell her.
She looks at my hair for a while and then says shyly,"You have really pretty hair"
"Thank you Sammie" I say. She looks past me to the fridge and then back to me, not sure how to ask.
"Want a soda?" I ask. She nodes her head an puts down her money on the counter .I give her,her soda and put my money on the counter.
I walk out behind the bar and take a seat next to the girl,"Do you work here?" She asks.
"No , I was just helping myself because he is to busy" I say pointing my thumb to the bartender.
I look over to the dance floor and see Sammie's feet swinging of the chair,"Do you want to dance Sammie?" I ask her ,holding my hand out to her.
She gives me a toothless smile and takes my hand. We walke to the dance floor and I spin her around a few times. She giggles at this and the sound is pure joy. We dance for two more songs. Just jumping and spinning and laughing.
A guy comes storming at us and grabs Sammie at the shoulders,"Don't hurt her" I say but am being ignored, "Sam,are you hurt? What happened? Where were you?" He says, looking her over for any evidence of harm.
She giggles,"Sha, I'm okay, I was dancing with Amber" she says pointing to me.
He looks up, recognition in his eyes. He stands up to his full length, "You better leave her alone" he said pointing his finger at me.
He takes Sammie's hand and turns around ,"Excuse me?" I ask. This causes him to spin around on his heels.
"When you were who knows where, doing f.... freaking who knows what, I was only dancing with her, you should be thanking me and you better keep your threats to yourself" with that I spin around on my heels leaving the dance floor.
"What are you going to do? Run me over with your bike?" He says challenging, freezing me on the spot.
