I'm gone tell them the whole story.
I look around to all the faces. Waiting for me to say something and then I look up to Shawn.
I look into his eyes and I can see he knows how hard it is to say what i'm about to, in front of everyone.
He takes my hand in an effort to let me know he's there,to know he cares.
"When I was born, my mother left. I never knew her. My dad raised me. He was...is the perfect dad and mom. He learned me to braid my hair, cook, change my own tire. He gave me everything through the years. He works days shifts and nights shifts but nonetheless he sees to it that I eat ,have everything I need and he gives me time and love. That was always enough for me. Then I went to high school. I saw the other girls with their mums and I visited a friend once. She had the perfect family a little baby brother, a dad and a mom. That was when I finally realized I was different. I didn't have siblings or a mother. I started to question her but end up with the answer it was all on me. I was the reason she left." Tears was fulling my eyes and the emptiness in my heart that I have burried so deep resurfaced but I knew I had to continue,"One day I asked my dad and he told me that I was his and he wants me enough for both of them." My voice got thin and dissappeared at the last momemt.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath and then struggle to but continued, "He told me it wasn't on me but on him. He was the only family I ever knew. One night I was home alone. I was about 11 the nanny already left and I heard a knock on the door. It was an officer. He asked me where my dad was and I told him he was at work. Then he asked me if there was an adult with me and I told him no. He gave me an envelope for my dad. It was a letter from my mom. Telling him she made a mistake giving me to him. She wanted to be in my life and be the best mom she could be. I was so excited to finally have a mom. My dad came home I gave him the letter and went to bed. I didn't sleep that night. I was up plotting how great my life's gone be when I finally have two parents. But the next day he said nothing about it. I went to school and went home expecting to see my dad and my mom." My voice breaks away completely.
