I pass my dad's room on the way to the kitchen.
"Early morning class?" He asks, following me in to the kitchen.
"You know it" I answer him, grabbing an apple throwing it into my backpack.
I kiss my dad on the cheek," see you later dad" I said and walked to the door.
"I'm working night shift this week" he called out after me.
I stopped at the door and turned around,"again?" I asked
"Yes Honey again." He said,smiling.
I just shook my head,"Okay, love you dad" I waved goodbye.
"Love you too" he yelled back.
I walked into class, taking a seat at the back. Not really in the mood for this class I decided to take out my phone and scroll through some Facebook feeds.
My phone vibrates to show an incoming message. It's an unknown number .
Enjoy your early morning class @AW
I look at the text again. My fingers started to type out a response when the professor came in to view. Trying to stay out of trouble I put my phone away. Forgetting all about the text.
Walking out of class,I walk straight to my car. My dad will leave for work around 5. If I go and buy what we need now and go straight home I can cook him a meal and when he leaves .I can leave and take a ride out to Eagles Cliff.
Eagles Cliff was the first place I rode on my own when I bought my bike.
It was one early morning. I arrived on the cliff just as the sun rose and the eagle and her babies swinging around in the sky .I fell in love with it and goes there every other day. Mostly Mondays.
It makes me appreciate life. Sitting there looking out over the landscape and the eagles made me realize how small my reality and problems are. It gives me a completely different perspective of things.I just wish that I can show it to my dad someday .I just know he will love it.
I walk out of the super market and put the bags on the back seat of my car. Taking the 5 minute drive home.
I take two bags out of the back and enter the house. Walking into the kitchen. I see super market bags on the island. I put down the bags on a chair. I turned around and walked straight into my dad coming out of the garage.
"Hey dad, what's this?" I ask pointing to the bags.
"It is our grocery list honey" he said, like it should have been office.
"I saw the list on the fridge this morning you forgot,so I figured why don't I just do it,since I'm working night shift." He explained.
When he saw the smile on my face grow bigger and bigger he stopped, looking at me puzzled.
"Did the baber messed up my hair? I knew something felt off on the back of my head. Do you think you can fix it with a scissor?" He asked getting more anxious.
This made me laugh out loud,"Dad,calm down. Your hair is fine." I said,"But I have already shop, the rest is in the car" I said pointing to the bags on the chair.
"But you didn't have the list",he said confused.
"Dad I have a shopping list app on my phone" I said, wiggling my phone in my hand.
