Sammie fell asleep on my lap. I watch the heart monitor on the other side of the bed. The beats are calm and collected. My eyes slide down to Amber. Her face is pale and her eyes have blue circles around them.

Oh Amber.

Everyone else has left already. They're coming back in the morning. Sammie wanted to stay with me so I didn't force her to go with Tory and Neill.

I look at my phone again. Considering it to call my dad but I want to talk to Amber first but then also what if she has another anxiety attack?

The hospital didn't call her dad because we paid everything in cash and they opened a new file for her, one where I'm listed as her emergency contact.

A nurse enter the room and looked at me and then at Sammie,"you know there is a room for children just down the hall" she said in a hush tone.

"No, thanks" I said shaking my head.

She look at me again and then she turns around and pulls open the curtain, revealing an open bed.

She looked at me and I nodded my head. She pulls of the blanket. I lay Sammie down and closes her.

"Thank you" I say to the nurse.

She walks over to Amber and takes her file, walking to the heart monitor she writes down something and check her drips.

I walk to in front of Ambers bed," Is she okay?" I asked for what felt like the millionth time.

"She'll be fine" The nurse said and putted the file back.

She walks to in front of me and looks at me," how old are you?"

"18"

" aren't you guys a bit young to be her parents" she asked motioning to Sammie.

I looked down to the ground and smile and looked up.

"I'm her brother and this is a family friend, kind off " I said.

The nurse looks at me,"Maybe of you're family but not of you. I know a boy in love when I see one. Except for that lost puppy look. You are also sitting here all night not to miss the small change she might wake up before twelve hours is over."

I just smile at her,"is this the first time?"

"First time?" I asked confuse.

"The first time she had an anxiety attack?"

"I don't know, she never mentioned is before neither did her dad" I answered.

"And why ain't he hear" she asked.

"He's with my dad somewhere overseas" I tell her.

"And you're mothers?" she asked

"Mine died in child birth six years ago and she never knew hers"

" I have to ask this, with both your fathers gone and two very young properly collage students left to look after a minor. Is there something I need to know? Amber is to old to call Forster care but Sammie is still young"

"What? No, you got it wrong. You see they asked us to do this and we said yes. Their coming back in a week. They left yesterday and Sammie ain't staying with us the whole time. She is going to her friend from Thursday." I explain to her
