Programs:
There are many programs out there in the graphic design world so I thought I'd share some of the most popular and for those of you who are clueless or beginners at graphic design these will definitely help you.

Photoshop - This software offers many things! Its quite easy to work with too. You do have to buy it but trust me, if you love graphic design and use it frequently it will be worth the cost.

Pixlr - If you don't want to buy Photoshop or can't then I recommend this! Best used as a web launcher but you can download it as a mobile app. It is a very easy program to work with but it does not give you as many options as Photoshop.

Gimp - I have never used this program before but I heard it is really good. It is mainly a web launcher but you can download an app for it.

Canvas - This software does not offer a lot of features but it helps with those last minute edits or finishing touches to your work.

Picmonkey - If you are a beginner/Intermediate graphic designer then this program is for you. It offers many features and provides tools that are good to practice with like, fonts and layers or fades. This can be used as a web launcher but can be downloaded as an app.

Superimpose - I haven't used this program a whole lot because this program is mainly good for blending photos together. Best as a web launcher but can be downloaded as an app.

PicsArt - This program is mainly for mobile users and is a really good app. It offers many (not all) features Photoshop offers.

Phonto - This program is a free app. Mainly for fonts.

Dimensions:
Dimensions are very important. You wouldn't want your picture to show up as blurry, would you? Here are all the dimensions I have found to be fitting (haha) on wattpad:

Wattpad Cover - 512 X 800 [Some also use 1024 X 1600]

Wattpad Header - 1920 X 600

Banner - usually 700 X 110, 800 X 200 [Depends on the designer]

Icon - usually 200 X 200, 400 X 400 [Again, depends on the designer]

Blend - 800 X 600

Movie Poster - 720 X 1080 [Again, depends on the designer]

Bookmark - 144 X 508 [Again, depends on the designer]

Bookjacket - 1124 X 800 [Depends on the dimensions of the spine]

Kindle Cover/ eBook - 1410 X 2250

Facebook Cover - 828 X 315

YouTube Thumbnail - 1280 X 720

Tumblr Banner - 3000 X 1055

Desktop Wallpaper - 1920 X 1080 usually [but its better to find out here, WhatIsMyScreenResolution.com]

Thread---Layout - 422 X 600 [usually, but you can use whatever you want really]

Fonts:
Some places to find fonts that will make your life easier as a graphic designer are:

1001Fonts.com

DaFont.com

Phonto.com

Where to find pictures?:
Where do we find the perfect picture? There are so many sites but the common ones are:

Deviantart

WeHeartIt

Pinterest

Tumblr

BeHance

Google images

Pixabay

Hint: If you want a picture with a transparent background that you can easily remove, just add 'PNG' to the end; as in 'Red Hair PNG' or 'Emma Watson PNG' and so on.
