With three simple steps you will be on your way to the over abundance of comments, votes, & views!
The cover:
If your cover Is eye catching and appealing, it is most likely that people will click on your oh so lovely book to read the summary. It will get their attention and thus lead to your description. The summary:
Even if you have a crappy cover, you still have the chance with your summary. The first line should be getting the reader interested. If you're ever luckier than lucky, your cover is good and your summary is even better, nearly guaranteeing a read.Summaries are really important when it comes to stories. A lot of the stories I've clicked on are based on the summaries and how much they interest me.
Did you know the first 10 minutes of someone's attention is critical? You have to capture their attention within 19 minutes otherwise they will no longer pay attention. They will daydream or fantasize or whatever and not even realize it! That is why you always want an attention getter like, in reading or in a video.
Consistency:
Your first chapter may be good, but you can't slowly decrease in skills and work effort as you go along. Your story has to be consistently good if it is already, and it should become consistently good if it isn't.
