Chapter 27

Narrator's POV 

Alyssa is dead, her parents don't remember her, no one except Ashlyn remembers anything about her. She now is just a lost soul. A soul who never got to achieve her dreams, her goals, she just remains a memory in the heart of Ashlyn, the only person who bothers to pray for her soul ever and wishes and hopes that she went to heaven and in the night the brightest star that shines is Alyssa's. 

Kate's parents found out, they were understanding, and didn't ask Ashlyn any questions which was very surprising. Kate now is being home schooled, Ashlyn is the only friend she has. They talk about things that they aspire to achieve and now are building the castle of friendship that they both once shared with Alyssa. 

Ashlyn just thinks about what might've happened to Zaire and what might be going on in his life, after all they weren't able to talk nicely...

"Another lonely walk to my home.." Ashlyn sighed. Now a days she usually goes alone to home instead going with her friends. All alone with her thoughts. 

"What the--" Ashlyn says as she squints to see a yellow haired boy walking towards her, waving his hand in the air.

Ashlyn's POV

I wonder what Kate might be doing right now, it used to be so much fun when she used to be in school and we shared the same classes, got in trouble together.. We had the times of our lives! What a pity.... it's all gone now, maybe it happened for the good.. I was all caught in my thoughts as usual when I noticed a yellow haired guy was approaching me waving his hands. At first I thought it wasn't meant for me but then I realized that no one else was around me. I stopped in my tracks when I met with those same purple eye, and that warm hug. My eyes were wide when I realized that Zaire was standing, hugging me.

"Missed me?" He smirked.

"Like a student misses school" I replied and we both laughed heartily. 

"Where you been?" I asked curiously

"Well..." He said, his smile slowly fading. 

"Well what..." I asked now worried. I stared at him as he...he......that bish face chuckled.    C-H-U-C-K-L-E-D!! 

"You fucking serious!!" I exclaimed in anger and he laughed. "That-Is-It" I said before starting to chase him round the ground. 

"Fine, fine, I'm sorry" He said gasping for air. I hit him on his back before sitting on the ground, annoyed. Sweet breeze blew, making the aesthetic beautifully pleasant. My hair blew with the wind, as I relaxed on the grass. 

"I'm sorry..." He said sitting beside me, our hands only few inches apart, we made an eye contact which was broken by Zaire. 
"For ya' know just disappearing all of a sudden without giving you hope and support when you needed it the most..." He said passing a sweet smile at me and staring at the blue sky. 

"shit" I whispered 

"I'm sorry wha-" Before Zaire could finish, I picked up my bag from the ground and ran. I forgot I had a date with a few of my friends. But that wasn't why I  ran away. I ran away because I was catching feelings for a stranger. Although he saved me. I just don't know.

"I reached in time" I said between heavy breaths as I reached home just in time to get ready and meet them.

~Tomorrow~

"Today's a Holiday?" I asked in a sleepy voice as my uncle informed me. 

"Yeah so sleep up, kiddo" He said and left my room. I shut off my alarm and see that it's only  6:00 am. My thoughts occupy my mind as I find myself unable to sleep. I dive deeper and deeper in my thoughts, and was snapped out of it as my aunt called me to wake up cause it's 10:00 am already. "10:00 FUCKING AM?" I opened my phone to see 10:01 am on the glowing screen. So I was just sitting on my bed for the past 4 hours? WOW...  

I noticed I had a message from Kate. 

Kat: I'm Bored...

Kat: Hey! I'll come over at yours by 11:00 kayy, we'll hang out. It's gonna be a lotta fun!! 

Although me and Kate have been friends for about 1 year, our friendship was pretty high. We've become the best of friends again but not at the same level. I've been to hers quite a lotta times since she moved here about 8 months ago. We often hang out and stuff but she's rarely been to my place and I couldn't blame her parents.

As my thoughts horrifies me, My phone flashed 10:20 am at my face. I rushed to the washroom and got changed into this cute blue and white dress, with a jacket and boots, my hair open just cause. 

I hear my phone ringing, it's an unknown number. I picked only to find out it was Zaire, he said he's coming over to pick me up at 12:00 and hung up. I tried calling but he won't bother to pick up. And I didn't have the guts to say no to Kate. Goddamnit!! 

I waited for Kate at my front door, and there she was, waving at me. She was wearing shorts with a crop top with a denim jacket overtop, sneakers and a messy bun. She reached and before I could say anything, I heard a voice calling my name, I looked back to see Zaire. 

"Who's he?" Kate asked pointing towards Zaire. 

"My friend" I replied awkwardly. 

"Hey there!" Zaire said looking at me, and then at Kate. Zaire was wearing a white shirt with faded blue jeans and with harry potter glasses. 

~At the café~

Zaire and Kate became instant friends. We all mixed up well.

"Ya' know.... You and Zaire make such a cute couple" She commented

"What?!" Me and Zaire said together. 

"See, you even reacted at the same time." She teased. 

Me and Zaire rolled our eyes at the same time, seeing that Kate burst into laughter followed by me and Zaire. People at the café were giving us some weird looks but we didn't bother. We had drinks and pastries and headed home.
