she woke up to the vibration of her phone. she felt ever so lonely without someone beside her, holding onto her waist while snuggling his face into her back. it was the middle of the night with the crescent moon hanging high up in the sky and she had yearned for her boyfriend's touch and warmth.

the text message she had received raised the edges of her lips into a big wide smile.

the message read, "babe, are you awake? i miss you." even if the light was too glaring for her eyes in the dark, she still felt contented that her boyfriend had thought about her.

she replied, "i'm up. i miss you too boo. when are you coming back?" the thought of him not by her side brought a wave of sadness back to her again.

soon enough, her phone buzzed again, "i don't know. i'm sorry. so much time is allocated for practice and i have to stay at the dorms." it brought a frown to her face.

"oh alright. please take care of yourself. i miss you so much. sleep tight my baby." the reply was all that she could come up with. she can't possibly be a burden to him and beg for him to come home. it's just going to make things difficult and leave him in a dilemma.

she then squinted her eyes to look at the time on her phone and realised that it was 3.52am. the sudden realisation of how the sun was going to rise soon made her come up with her next reply, "why aren't you sleeping at this time of night?"

before she could doze back off to dreamland, he replied, "practice. i miss you too, baby girl. sleep well and dream of me!"

the message gave her a piece of mind and she went back to bed.
