i tried calling her time and again. but, she just was not picking up her phone.

a week later, this happened.

"the current number you're calling is no longer in use."

i even tried using daniel's phone to reach her but to no avail.

something clicked in my mind and i knew i had to get out of here if i want to salvage this relationship.

i ran. i ran as fast as i could, past the corridors, out the main door, past the guards. but where will she be?

the cafe we always frequent? no.

the chicken skewer restaurant? no.

our home? no.

the wardrobe was as empty as my heart. she had moved everything out. the bedsheets were smooth, as if there were no traces of a human being in here before.

i shifted my sight to the balcony. i could see her seated on the chair, enjoying her fresh cup of macchiato.

i looked at the vanity. she would be here tying her hair into cute braids. she always looked perfect to me.

my sight turned to the bathroom. i saw us, brushing each other's teeth while chuckling away at how childish we were.

i miss those times.

i have to get her back.

but she's gone and i don't know where she is.

the rain started pouring as i was making my way back to the dormitories. i had practice scheduled and my leader needed me to be back because they were making formations.

i stopped by a nearby convenience store to hide from the rain and picked up my phone to inform the others that i would be late.

i could hear grunts and whines coming from the other line, causing me to apologise over and over again.

i turned around and realised that the alleyway next to this convenience store was where we met. what a coincidence.

i picked up a carton of strawberry milk, her favourite, and proceeded to pay at the cashier.

"hello. is there anything else you would like to g-..."

tears ran down my eyes as if on cue and i continued staring.

it was her.

she was here.

it was as if time stopped when we stared at each other.

thank god there was no queue forming behind me. in fact, no one else was in the store except us.

i reached out to grab her hand but she immediately retracted it.

"that would be 1,200 won, sir."

"please let me explain."

"sir, you're interrupting my job here. please pay and enjoy your strawberry milk."

"please listen to me! please give us both another chance! i'm begging you! don't leave me ever again. please."

my voice was becoming softer progressively as i made many pleads for her to just listen to me and let me explain.

"i don't think we're meant for each other."
