Chapter 7 - Another Date?

"I've been meaning to ask, you know what you said about Kai the other day? What did you mean?" I asked as we walked out of the hospital.

"Ah. Well you see, it's kind of a long story. Just don't talk to him okay?" He said with a smile.

"Well if someone who I've known for 2 weeks wants me to stop talking to someone I've known for years, I'd at least want a reason." I said, laughing slightly at the end.

"*sigh* Fine." He said. "I've known him since elementary up until high school and he was your generic school bully. He was friends with me but he was bullying my friend at the same time and I didn't even realize. Every day he'd pick on my best friend Taehyung and when I did find out, he'd threaten me not to tell. One thing lead to another and..." Baekhyun trailed off before gulping. "My friend couldn't take it any longer and he committed suicide."

I could tell that Kai was a somewhat bad person by the way Baekhyun would act around him, but I never knew he'd do this.

"Oh. I'm sorry for bringing it up." I said awkwardly.

"That's fine. He's in a better place now." Baekhyun said as he smiled at me.

"Yeah." I smiled back.

"Aaahhhh I'm sooo hungry." Baekhyun whined as he closed his eyes and lifted his head in agony, completely changing the subject.

"Well it is about dinner time." I giggled a little as I looked at the time on my phone. "Why don't we eat out somewhere?"

"Ah, I'm so glad you asked." Baekhyun said with a joyful look on his face. "I know just the place and don't worry (Y/N), it's on me." He then began to skip a little as he walked, just like a child. Not gonna lie, it was cute and all but the looks we were receiving because of it were not.

"Oh, no that's fine-" I began to say before getting interrupted by a finger on my lips. It was Baekhyun's.

"Hush my child." He said before removing his finger. "Just except the offer."

"O-okay." I stuttered, still unable to comprehend what had just happened.

We continued walking for a few more minutes until we made it to the fancy restaurant Baekhyun spoke about.

"The food here's great." Baekhyun said as we walked in. "I used to always come here as a kid with the rest of my family."

As Baekhyun booked us a table I looked around at my surroundings, the place seemed familiar. Once Baekhyun had finished, him and I walked towards the table he had just booked and looked through the menu as we waited for the waiter.

'That's it!' I thought to myself. 'This is the same place Kai took me last week.'

"Oi pabo." Said a certain masculine voice which snapped me from my daydream. I looked up to see Baekhyun's eyes poking out from above the menu he was holding. "Are you even gonna pick something pabo?"

"Huh?" I looked to my left to see that I was yet to even pick up the menu. "Oh right." I said as I picked it up and scanned through it's contents. It was then that I realized something.

"Hey! I'm not a pabo!" I whisper shouted as I hit Baekhyun on the arm.

Baekhyun held his arm in agony and started to make inhumane noises. "Owie (Y/N). That hurt." he said sarcastically. "You defiantly are a pabo i it took you that long to realize though."

I only huffed in response before averting my eyes back to the menu. Of course the food was still as expensive as it was before.

"Don't worry about the price, get whatever you want." Baekhyun said, having seen my worried look towards the menu.

"Ah, um, okay." I them skimmed through the menu. "Oh the  (Food of choice) looks good."

It was then that the waiter had arrived. "Are you ready for your order?" He asked.

"We'll have two (Food of choice) please." Baekhyun said. The waiter wrote it down on his note pad, bowed at us and then left again.

Time skip to after meal
~~~~

"Ahh. I'm stuffed." Baekhyun said while patting his belly as we left the restaurant.

"It's weird. This is the exact place I went out to with Kai and yet it's much less awkward this time. I also had fun." I mumbled to myself.

"Well that's because you spent the day with me and not that loser." Baekhyun said with a grin before putting an arm around my shoulders.

"I guess." I replied.

"It's getting dark." Baekhyun stated. "I should probably take you home then." He then removed his arm from my shoulders and slipped his hand into mine.

I looked down at our hands in confusion before looking back up to Baekhyun, a few seconds later he looked back down at me then finally realized what he did. He turned his head in the opposite direction and I'm almost certain I saw his ears go pink.

"It's dark and I don't want you going lost." He mumbled.

"Ah um okay." I stuttered before also hiding my flushed face.

We continued walking for a few more minutes and it was nice. It wasn't too warm nor was it too cold. The sun had just set and all the city lights were on, creating many white and orange glows which stood out from the darkness. Before I knew it, we were at my house and it was time to say goodbye.

"I should get going know." Baekhyun said as he let go of my hand. "I had fun today, we should do it again some time." He then flashed me a grin.

"We should." I agreed, returning the smile. "Good night Baekhyun."

"Goodnight (Y/N)." Baekhyun responded before walking away.
