Chapter 19 - New Friends?

Kai's POV

"Are you alright Kai ssi?" Asked the girl who suddenly appeared next to me.

"Who're you?" I asked as I rubbed my eyes and moved away a little.

"Oh, um I'm Park Hyori. I'm sorry for just letting myself in it's just I heard you crying and I couldn't just ignore it." She mumbled, getting quieter and quieter as she continued her sentence.

"I wasn't crying." I replied. "Thanks for your concern but I'm fine."

"You don't seem fine... I know it's none of my concern and you don't have to tell me but... it's not good for you to hold in your worries, you should tell someone." She said as she looked downwards, looking up at my eyes once she had finished her sentence.

I looked at her in the eyes and saw the concern in them. A few seconds had passed and she looked away blushing.

"Aw. You're such a cutie." I said as I ruffled her hair.

"What?" She squeaked.

"It's my father." I suddenly said, ignoring her question. "I've always had a passion for dancing but my father wants me to do business. My mother used to support me... before she passed away." I confessed before looking down, avoiding eye contact.

"I'm sorry to hear." She whispered. "But If dancing is what you want to do then you should do it."

I turn my head towards Hyori due to her suddenly speaking loudly.

"You should always chase your dreams, ignore what everyone else says. Your life is yours alone and you're free to make your own choices in life." She exclaimed.

I sat their dumbfounded by hearing that come out the mouth of such a timid girl, Hyori seemed to notice my silence and a worried look spread across her face.

"What is it?" She asked. "Did I say something weird?"

"No." I smiled as I stood up, I held out my hand and pulled her up with me. "You actually helped me a lot. Thank you." I said before giving her a hug. Being the shy girl she was, it took her a little while to hug back.

It was then that the bell rang.

"How about I buy you lunch for helping me?" I suggested.

"Oh no that's completely fine." She immediately declined.

"Well too late, I've already decided I'm going to." I said as I began walking out of the room, with her just behind me. "Unless you'd rather be hanging out with someone else." I turned around to face her and pouted.

"Of course not." She immediately denied. "Actually I don't really have anyone to hang out with." She then began to fiddle around with her fingers.

"Well then that's even more reason for you to join me." I then held her hand and took her to the canteen.

I got myself and Hyori a burger before sitting down next to the rest of my friends.

"Finally got a girlfriend I see." Jongdae said despite having his mouth full of food.

"Finish what you're eating first Jongdae." I said as I put sauce into my burger and was about to take a bite. "And no, we're not dating, she's a new friend of mine." I then gave Hyori a smile before taking a bite out of my burger.

"Welcome to the group of idiots Hyori." (Y/N) smiled at Hyori.

"I hope you wasn't including me when you said that." Kyungsoo, who was sat right beside her, said as he took a sip of his water.
