On my way home I stopped by a convenient store to buy myself some food, until I saw a young man, around my age standing outside the store on his phone, but when he saw me he immediately placed it in his pocket and ran over to me, holding both of my hands.
"Ah you seem like a nice girl. Would you please buy me lunch! I'm starving and haven't eaten for two days now." He practically begged with pleading eyes. "Well I mean, you don't have to since I'm kinda like a stranger and all but if you would I'd be grateful."
"Um. I guess I can. But I can't afford anything fancy." I replied as I got my purse out of my bag.
"Ah. Thank you so much." He bowed three times as a grin spread across his handsome face. Woah calm down kiddo, if you bow any more times your spine will break.
"Just wait here okay?" I said before entering the convenient store, where I bought myself a pot of noodles like usual, except this time I was buying two.
Once I had purchased my desired items I walked to the back of the store and poured some kettle water into the instant noodle pots and stirred them before heading back out of the store to see the man sitting on a bench a few meters away, rocking his legs back and fourth like a child, causing a small smile to creep onto my face due to the cuteness.
"Here you go." I said handing him a pot of noodles and a pair of chopsticks.
"Thank you so much Miss." He smiled brightly as he took the noodles and chopsticks from me.
Not only was he really well mannered but he was also very attractive, in fact I'd even say he's as attractive as Kai. He had blondish brownish hair that curled a little at the front, exposing his forehead and he also a pair of beautiful, deep dark eyes.
"Um. How do you eat with this?" He asked as he looked at the chopsticks as if they were some sort of alien species.
"Hmm? Oh, like this." I answered his question by holding my own chopsticks in the correct way and picking up some noodles.
"Oh. Thanks." He mumbled before copying my action.
"You don't know how to use chopsticks? What do you eat? You look too healthy to have not been eating anything and yet you appear to be living on the streets?" I asked.
"Woah. Calm down. We just met and you're already asking me loads of questions." He chuckled.
"Oh. Sorry." I apologized.
"It's fine. Well actually to be completely honest I've only been homeless for two days. I used to live with my parents and my brother. We, well I guess you can say were really well off money wise, which is why I'm not familiar with utensils such as chopsticks. However I never liked it there. Yes we had money but it didn't feel like a real family. I felt as though everyone cared more about money than each other, not only that but also my Father was determined to get me married to some woman I hadn't even met just to get even more money, and so I left. I had enough of living with people who cared more about money than their own son. You'd think my Father would give me at least a little bit of money to live off of, or even let me borrow some but no... He wouldn't even do that..." He mumbled sadly, trailing off near the end. "Wait, I have no clue why I'm telling you this haha."
I had only known this man for about 10 minutes but already he seemed to be a very cheery guy, so seeing him sad like that made me feel a little sad too.
"That must have been terrible." I said, sympathizing with the stranger. "While I can't say I've had the same experience, I sort of know what you mean."
"Hmm?" He raised an eyebrow as he tilted his head slightly. I guess it was my turn to talk about some personal things with a stranger.
"Well my Mother had caught an illness two years ago and since then my Father, instead of worrying for her health or trying to help, had grown more distant from her and blamed her, saying she was the reason why our household didn't make enough money, he also blamed me for it too. About a month later he got sick of us and moved out of the country, I haven't heard from him since, but I've heard from others and apparently he's doing well in America. He's having a great time living in America while my Mother's in Hospital and I'm here struggling to pay for both a living and my Mother's hospital fees." I said solemnly before slowly placing a small amount of noodles into my mouth, my slurping being the only thing audible in the awkward silence.
"I see. Well I guess we both have parent issues huh? Haha." He said with a fake laugh. " *Sigh* I'm sorry. If I knew you were struggling with money I wouldn't have asked for food from you."
"Oh, no. It's fine it was only 2000 won." (Approximately £1.37, $1.79) I assured. "Besides, I'd feel terrible leaving a handsome young man on the streets to starve." I added with a smile.
"Handsome?" He questioned. Shit I said that part out loud. "You know, you're quite cute yourself." He replied with a smirk. "What's your name?"
"Huh? Oh um (L/N) (Y/N). What about you?" I answered his question with another question.
"I'm Byun BaekHyun." He answered with a beaming smile which looked beautiful with the sunlight shining on it, leaving me speechless for half a minute until I had decided to look at my phone to read the time which read 5:00pm.
"Oh I should get going; it's already 5:00pm." I said before standing up and walking away. "It was nice meeting you BaekHyun-ssi!" I called as I waved at him, slowly moving further and further away.
"You too, (Y/N)." He called back.
