Jazz's P.O.V.

No one had slept since the incident. It was a wonder we made it by. A week had already passed but it felt like months without her angry cursing to pleasure our ears. I missed her profanity, irritation, and frustration. I also missed that small bit of motherly tenderness that lies deep inside her.

We were all getting dressed to go to a meeting at Slender's place to discuss what we were going to do next and what had happened. The only problem? My dad refused to leave his room. We'd gotten just about all of his friends but he'd only open the door for Opal, Liu, and I.

Standing at the door, I knocked. "Daddy, can I come in?" I asked. I was answered with the door clicking and my dad opening the door. I could barely stand to look at him like this. His eyes were red and puffy, his nose was running, and for once he looked like something I never thought I'd see my dad as.

My dad looked weak and scared.

I hugged him tightly. He had been barely able muster a word out at all the past few days. We had been going to sleep hearing his mournful cries. No one had been there to cook our dinners, so we had to do it ourselves.

He hadn't even gone out to kill. He just sat in his room and did God knows what. We were worried he had been harming himself, but there weren't any gashes on him so I ruled it off.

"Jazz..." he started.

"We need to go to a meeting, Daddy. Come on. Please, for us? We know losing Mom has clearly hurt you, and that this is all really, really hard for you. But we need to go."

He stared into my eyes a long time before standing straight and nodding. We all walked out together to Slendy's house. While we were walking, Opal kept her mouth shut, Liu didn't get side tracked, and I kept myself from killing random little animals.

The life and happiness that once brimmed my dad's eyes were replaced with broken, weary orbs. This must've been what he looked like when he just turned into who he was. Emotionless, damaged, and insane. He hid underneath his hood.

Despite his immortality, my dad looked so much older now. He was only twenty five, but by the look on his face you would guess forties or fifties. It hurt all of us to see this man instead of our serial killer dad we'd all grown up with and loved.

Shouldn't we have been the ones he needed to help out of the house and him be the one comforting us? They really did depend on one another, didn't they? Dad wasn't functioning properly without her. Like a car missing an engine, he was broken, empty under the hood, and had to be pushed in order to move.

When we arrived at the house, Luna opened up. Entering, dad sat down on the coach and stared off into nowhere. Everyone there looked concerned for him.

BEN looked like he had been crying quite a bit. Why was he crying? I mean, yeah, my mom was an awesome person, but it isn't like he was her boyfriend or anything. In fact, it seemed like he was usually upset or uncomfortable around her.

Opal walked over to him and gave him a huge hug. Mom had always told her to be good to him, that he was a bit sensitive. She always told Opal to visit him, that he had been lonely and yearned for her company.

BEN and Opal talked to each other while everyone else discussed the incident. They just seemed like they were in their own private little world.

"I can't believe they found a way through... I thought it was impossible for other creatures to make it through but maybe... It's not." sighed Masky.

"Smile really misses Mama. He always walks around real sad like and looks for her, Like she'll be on the bed or in the kitchen alright and he can give her puppy kisses." Liu added randomly. He wasn't wrong, Smile did do that. The dog wanted to see her again so badly.

There was silence before Dad turned to Slendy with a look of malice.

"I have a few questions for you. One, why didn't you save my wife? You're a goddamn Slender! Show some balls!" he snapped.

"Jeff, what do I do every morning and every night? What is my form of hunting? Stalking. I stalk and follow and learn. I'm not good with fast paced surprise attacks. I can execute them, but I can't see them coming. I panicked. Have you not panicked before?"

Dad became silent before adding, "Awhile back, you saved Pinkamena after she wad decapitated. Why didn't you do that for Iris? Or for that matter, anyone here who's been decapitated?!" he snapped.

"Jeff, that took a lot of energy. Energy I don't have. Every little thing I do takes energy. Regular resurrection is fine, but not after decapitation. I saved Pinkamena because I was in love with her at the time. I wish I could've saved Karren, but I couldn't. She had to give up her immortality so our daughter could have hers. I can't save everyone, Jeff."

"You couldn't just spare one tendrils to help us out?!" my dad screamed.

"One tendril less protecting my daughter. I'm sorry, I should've, but I didn't." Slender Man had been answering all of my dad's furious questions very calmly.

Until my dad crossed the line, which of course he had to do.

"I hope Toby comes back here and molests Luna like he did to Jazz. And I hope I can just sit there and watch it. Because that it's exactly what you did."

Slender Man rushed forward and slammed him into a wall.

"Never, ever talk about my Luna being molested!" he snapped. Nice going, Dad, You pissed him off. Slender proceeded to slam him into a wall for a little before we managed to calm him.

"Dad, stop it. There's no point in being angry now over what happened. We can't change it." I sighed.

Luna looked up at me.

"Hey, Jazz? What was up with you flipping your shit out and biting that girl's neck? I mean, yeah, I can see you killing her, but wow, that was viscous. And then you proceeded to mutilate her dead body, then you decapitated her. I mean... You really lost it..."

Everyone turned to me.

"Like father like daughter, I suppose." The voice came from the direction of the door, which had just opened.
