*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*

My eyes snap open to the sound of the very loud walky-talky. I jumped out of the cot and quickly saw the screen.

"Oh no."

Everyone jumped out of their cots and ran over to me.

"What's wrong?" Liam asked.

"Guys, we need to hurry. Jason's in trouble." I quickly said grabbing my gun and running out the tent as quickly as I could with Liam, Zach, Mariah and the dogs right behind me.

I looked at the blinking light on the walky-talky and followed it, dodging citizens, and turning down a couple streets before we came down an alley and found a couple guys with guns pointing them at Jason.

"Drop your weapon!" I yelled dropping the walky-talky and lifting my rifle.

They snapped their heads towards me and started to run. Ashes and Dante growled and chased them, tackling them to the ground.

Mariah and Zach chased after the dogs and successfully got them off the intruders. I lowered my gun and ran to Jason, whose face was scrunched up in pain, lying down, leaning against the wall, and clutching his side.

"Jason, what happened." I said kneeling down beside him seeing if he had any more injuries. So far he only has a real bad bruise forming on his face. I couldn't see anything past his neck due to his jacket.

He groaned and winced as he tried to move to a better sitting position.

"Hey, it's okay. Just lean back and rest. Everything's going to be okay." I looked at Mariah and Zach who was cuffing the intruders.

"Watch out. I need to see the wound before we move him." Chris said crouching down next to us. I moved to the side and watched Chris lift Jason's jacket and shirt.

"Is everything okay?" I asked trying to get a better look only to find his torso blue, purple and green

Chris let out a breath. "He's fine. The bullet just skimmed him. But they beat him before they shot him." he said not taking his eyes off the wounded soldier.

I nodded and looked over to the Lieutenants to see them walking in a different direction with the enemy cuffed. Ashes walking with them while Dante trotted back to us.

"Okay, you take his gun and I'll carry him back to the tent." I said.

Chris nodded and took the gun from me.

I pick Jason up with a grunt. "He looks like a really light guy. But, man, he needs to lose a couple pounds." I said sarcastically.

Chris chuckled. We quickly got to the tent and put Jason on his cot. Chris quickly went to his side and ripped his jacket and shirt opened and started examining his body.

I gasped and took a step back. It was worse than I thought it was before.

His whole body looked purple, black, grey, blue and really bloody.

Chris took his backpack off and grabbed some gauze and and tape from it and quickly wrapped his torso. He groaned in pain before he lost consciousness.

"John."

I snapped my head towards the door. It was Zach.

"Yeah?"

"Lieutenant Buchmann wants to see you down in the cells."

I gave him a blank stare.

"I'll show you where it is." he quickly said.
