"Who's the man in the relationship?" I giggle as the two of them answer at the same time,
"Both." They laugh, and Lafayette leans into Herc's shoulder, sighing. I smile, jotting down the tidbit of information onto my notepad.
"So, no dresses, I assume?" Hercules gags, while Lafayette looks up to the ceiling as if in thought.
"Non, mon cher." I snort, scribbling this down.
"Where are you gonna get your tuxes from then?" Hercules puts a hand up in the air, biting his lip.
"I'll make 'em. Much cheaper than any stupid retailer down the street, and a lot better looking." Laf sighs, taking his hand and leaning into the taller man's side again.
"You love to brag, mon amour." Hercules snorts, looking away to hide a smile.
"Do not."
"Do too!" Hercules turns back with a huge smile, going nose to nose with his fiancé.
"Do not!" Just as Laf opens his mouth to say something again, I butt in.
"Can we focus on the wedding, please?" They sigh, leaning contently into each other with a healthy blush across both of their faces. I grin, biting my pencil eraser. "You guys are so cute." Hercules rolls his eyes and Laf grins, biting his lip. "So, when do you want it to be?" Hercules looks over to Laf, who shrugs.
"As soon as possible, I guess. I mean, we won't have many people there, and it shouldn't take too much planning, oui?" Hercules nods slowly, as if deep in thought.
"All our friends, of course, your mom and dad," Laf cuts in, a worried expression filling his innocent and sparkling eyes.
"What about your parents?" Hercules shrugs, looking away.
"Laf, we already went over this.." Lafayette lets out a small 'humph', grabbing Herc's face and forcing him to look straight into his eyes.
"Yes, but maybe they have changed?" Hercules looks away, muttering as Laf continues. "Non?" Herc smiles weakly, then looks back up to me. I laugh awkwardly to ease the tension, then turn back to the clipboard.
"If it won't be too big, then can I make it somewhere special? Not some stupid, boring old monastery?" Laf snorts, and Hercules grins.
"Only Peggy." I shrug easily, jotting down the names of the visitors, before looking back up to Herc.
"So?"
"So, what?"
"Parents or no parents?" He sniffs, biting his lip and looking away. He shifts in his seat awkwardly as Laf runs his hand up and down the other man's arm, an attempt to comfort him. When he looks back though, his eyes have a slight tinge of hope.
"Uh- O- Okay.. L- Let's give it shot." He breathes out heavily and we both cheer as Laf attacks him with a hug.
"Je t'aime, chienne!" Herc snorts, pushing a curl out of the giddy man's face.
"Yeah. And I love you too."

I slide into the booth as silently as possible, holding my cup by the cap and wincing as it clacks on the wooden table.
I'm not supposed to be here.
I'm supposed to be anywhere but here.
