Hello so this is my first fanfic so don't expect it to be good. It's probably going to be just one chapter unless I get any reviews. It's basically just James and Lily's wedding with a twist.
Disclaimer: Jk Rowling owns everything except the plot

I Cant Remember If I Cried
Lily's POV:
The day was beautiful, at least in the beginning. We had decided on a spring wedding. We being me and James, of course. It was a small wedding with just our close friends there, for me it was just Marlene Mc Kinnon, Mary MacDonald, and the new Alice Longbottom (she just got married so her last name is no longer Prewett). For James it was the usual marauders that had tormented me and my friends for so long while we were in Hogwarts. There was Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Frank Longbottom (Alice's husband). Sadly, Peter couldn't make it, he had some important business to do somewhere else. Because of the war, our parents weren't even there. James mother was killed in our seventh year of Hogwarts and his father had important Auror duties. He tried to get away from them but he's really important there. My parents couldn't come because the war was getting so harsh that it was deemed unsafe for them to step outside. But the celebration was lovely. There were wildflowers blooming everywhere and we had an arch where we were going to get married that had honeysuckle vines growing all over it. Humming birds of the brightest color were flying around, drawn to the flowers. Marlene and the girls were helping me into my wedding dress. It was a pale creme color and had a high collered front with a low back. The skirt was about to my ankles and then sloped down to form a long train. "You look amazing!" Exclaimed Alice tearfully, always the emotional one of us. "Are you sure?" I asked, biting my lip. "Ali is right you look fantastic, your gonna sweep James off his feet." Marlene said. Marlene was my maid of honor, as we had decided to only have a maid of honor and a best man. She picked up my train as the wedding march started to play and we stepped outside.
James POV:
"Your going to be fine, James" Sirius growled under his breath. I tried to be as confident as Sirius. At that moment the music started playing and Lily stepped out of the front door of our new house, where we were holding the wedding. I caught my breath. She was breathtaking I her wedding gown. She had a delicate silver tiara on her head that shone brightly in hr red curls. Her eyes sparkled happily as she walked up to stand under the arch with me, Marlene holding up the trail behind her. Sirius had eyes only for Marlene, as they had kind of become a thing after departing Hogwarts. I barely listens to the minister, stumbling through my wedding vows, until I finally looked away from her when he finally asked, "Do you, James Potter take Lily Evens, to love and to hold in sickness and in health till death do you part?" Suddenly confident I said "I do." That was a no brainier. He asked the same thing to Lily and she responded, also with "I do." I must have been grinning like an idiot, because when she caught sight of me she smirked and muttered "idiot" under her breath. Then the minister said "I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride." When we kissed it was the sweetest thing ever, and I could dimly hear our friends cheering around us. But just as we pulled apart, a large leopard patronus soared between us and turned to face Lily. It spoke I the voice of Kingsly Shacklebolt, a friend of ours from school who was training to be an Auror. It said, "Lily you're parents house has been attacked by Death Eaters. Some of our Aurors were sent to stop them. I'm sorry to say we were too late." Then it turned to me. "Your father was one of them. He was lost in the fighting. I'm coming over as soon as possible." Then the patronus vanished into thin air. Lily ran into the house with the other girls scampering behind her. I just stood there dumbfounded. Sirius was just as shocked as I was. My dad was as much of a father to him as to me and more if a father than his own. The other guys surrounded us muttering words of condolence, but the buzzing in my ears drowned it all out. Lily and I were alone in the world. Our children would be raised without grandparents. I can't remember if I cried.
Lily's POV:
As soon as I got the news I sprinted inside and sat down immediately. I was in shock. I heard the girls banging around behind me they finally caught up with me, breathing hard and sat there in silence watching me. I can't remember if I cried.
