Maki laid on her bed watching her favorite show, a normal Saturday for her, or at least it was until her phone buzzed
She looked at it, it was from the asshole
'We're hanging out today'
'No.'
'Yes. Meet me at the park at 8;00.'
'I don't wanna hang out with you after the shit you pulled today you cocky asshole'
'See you at eight.'
Maki groaned "great." She mumbled throwing her phone on the bed and falling back into her pillows
She sighed and looked over at her phone again 'I hate everything about that ass' she thought, then rolled to her side and looked at the wall
Then rolled again and looked up at her ceiling, her hand over one of her eyes and part of her forehead, she sighed
Later Maki decided she should probably get ready, it was 7;20
She quickly showered and put her hair into her normal twin tails and put on her clothes, then grabbed her bag and phone and left
"Where are you going Maki it's 7;50" Maki's Mom asked her
"Meeting someone, I'll call you and I'll be back by eleven" She replied
"Okay, have fun" Her Mom responded
"I won't" she said to herself as she left the house
She pulled up to the park at exactly 8;00 and just like the night before Kaito was waiting there
"Why am I here again?" Maki asked annoyed once she got out of the car
"Since last night I made you answer questions, now I'll answer some, as an apology for his morning" he replied
Maki sat down in the grass "You apologizing? What's the catch" she asked
"There is none." He replied
Maki sighed "fine, then first question, why are you how you are, why are you such a dick, why do you do what you do to girls, why can't you be a nice person ever?" She asked
"I had a feeling you'd ask that" Kaito replied
"So what kind of dumb excuse are you gonna make so you don't have to tell me?" Maki asked
"I'm not, you wanna know that badly, fine."
"In middle school, I was a lot different so we're all my friends, Shuichi was quiet, and calm, and a huge baby all the time"
"Kokichi was less of a dick, but he hasn't changed much, Kiyo was just weird, Kiibo was the same"
"I'm not asking about them I'm asking about you" Maki replied
"I know I know, and you probably won't believe it but I was really nice, I could be friends with anyone, people often called me inspirational, and a great person"
"What the hell happened" Maki asked
"I don't know, People thought I was too nice and apparently that wouldn't cut it in high school, so we changed, I used my weakness to make myself a dick"
"Weakness?" Maki asked
"Girls, you know how we are, take them, lead them on, leave them"
"Yeah. I've noticed." Maki replied
"We had to show people we weren't kids" he explained
"So we started to lead girls on then ditch them, And as more people hated us for it, it was easier to be mean, and bitter" he told her
"So you're how you are because you were sick of being nice?" Maki asked getting annoyed
She stood up and stared at him "that's absolute bullshit! Who hell does that kind of stuff? God you're worse then I thought, I was thinking maybe family problems made you like this, But you did it to yourself?! You're absolutely unbelievable" Maki remarked
"we thought we would get made fun of and beat up all of high school! And people would continue to do it because we were just 'too nice' and 'too fragile' so we would be easy targets!"
"We did it so our high school life wouldn't be miserable" he muttered
"So you make other people's miserable so that yours isn't?! Wow." Maki replied annoyed and disappointed
"I don't expect you, or anyone else to understand, not now, not ever" Kaito replied
"I'll never fall for someone like you, we should just call the bet over already because I already won, I'm never falling for you" she said, still pissed off
"Maybe not, but I'm not giving up on this bet yet" Kaito replied
"Why not?" Maki asked
"Because, I cant lose to you" he replied
"Whatever, I'm leaving I'm so done with you" Maki replied and started walking towards her car
"Fine I'll let you cool off" Kaito replied for once not sounding like a dick
Maki rolled her eyes as she walked back to her car, she hated Kaito Momota, and every thing about him and that she was sure, would never change
